Hello,

Doing both MVMCP and Holidays Around The World at Epcot. On DIS it says that the MVMCP tree lighting is only on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays. Then, someone on here says they have it during every night on MVMCP. At first when I thought I was going to miss the MVMCP had planed on doing the Epcot one. Are they the same/different? Which one is better? Probably won't be able to see both. Thanks so much!

I'm interested in that information as well.
I have heard that the one at Epcot is really neat.
Also, they are now picking someone out of the crowd to help turn on the lights at Osborne Spectacle of Lights at MGM.

the info is a bit jumbled.

i honestly don't know what the tree lighting procedure at MK is this year. in the past, they had a show at the train station at 5:45. in that case, epcot wins hands down in my opinion.

right now the tree is in the rose garden as it gets moved to town square after the parade taping.

also right now, the castle lighting ceremony takes place on the forecourt stage at 5:45. cute and nice to watch, but again, i'd rather see epcot's if i had to see one.

the castle lighting takes place every day regardless of MVMCP (it is in fact well before MVMCP even starts). while disney was touting the castle lights as being part of MVMCP, along with many other supposed party 'exclusives,' it's not.

so the real question is what will happen after the tree is moved to its proper location - if there will be two separate events on opposite ends of main street or if they'll be integrated somehow.

I hope they are intergrated some way that would really add to the tree lighting at MK.:goodvibes :goodvibes

the tree lighting at epcot is not to be missed. a really cute show and then they light the winter lights and eventually the tree. I don't know if they will have a tree lighting per say at MK because they have the castle lights now. and BTW they don't do parties on saturdays or mondays or wed. so whoever posted that they only light the tree on parties on saturday had the wrong info. parties run sundays, tuesday, thursdays, and fridays.

I was not aware that there was a tree lighting in MK. I thought they stopped this. Do they do this every night or on busy nights?

epcot tree lighting is fantastic :goodvibes

Ok, so no one really has a definitive time or even whether or not the MK tree lighting happens? Anyone been/seen this at a MVMCP THIS year?

The Epcot one is at 6 PM every night right? Is this with characters or people? A CM would tell me where it is right?

When I went to the Magic Kingdom Tree Lighting Ceremony last year it was at 5:20 so that time would not conflict with Cinderella's Holiday Wish which is at 5:45 if they do it this year.I have not seen any indication that the Tree Lighting Ceremony has been cancelled this year so I would assume it will begin as soon as the tree is moved to Town Square, but I guess we won't know for sure until then.:)

ack.. sorry, you are right (sort of - there was no cinderella show or castle lighting last year), but it looks like the tree lighting ceremony was at 5:20 or so, right after the flag retreat ceremony. i'm looking at pics and the times right now.

There has been no indication that the Magic Kingdom Tree Lighting Ceremony will not take place this year, but it does not begin until the Tree is moved from the Rose Garden to Town Square. It will be moved after the ABC Christmas Parade is taped next weekend.Yes,the Epcot Tree Lighting Ceremony has now begun and is at 6:00 nightly. It is not hard to find-the Tree is at the World Showcase end of the main walkway from Future World to World Showcase. If you enter through the main entrance just walk past Spaceship Earth, past the Fountain of Nations and keep walking straight toward World Showcase and you will see the Lights of Winter and then the Tree. The Magic Kingdom Ceremomny is VERY cute, but the Epcot Ceremony is probably a bit more elaborate.:)

I didn't mean to imply that they had Cinderella's Holiday Wish last year, but that because the Tree Lighting Ceremony was at 5:20 last year,if they schedule it at 5:20 again this year,it will be possible to do both shows since the NEW show Cinderella's Holiday Wish is being shown at 5:45.I think the Magic Kingdom Tree Lighting Ceremony is kind of a Holiday Tradition just like the Epcot Tree Lighting Ceremony and will be very surprised if they don't do it this year.:)

Ok, everyone. Thank you soo much!!

Does the disney Christmas stuff air on ABC Christmas Day?

Epcot tree lighting just started today (Nov 23rd). It is every night at 6pm from now until Dec 30th.

Did anyone make it to the first show today (Nov 23rd) by chance? If so PLEASE PM me:santa: .

Thank-You

Happy Holidays!!!!:goodvibes
