I have been saving and saving to split our vacation and spend a couple of days at AKL. We plan on spending the those couple of days at the lodge taking in the sights. My daughters goal in life is to be a zoo keeper. Where should we ask to be placed. Zebra trail (arusha an uzima trails) or kudu (arusha and sunset) Any ideas???

Thanks!!

We recently stayed on the Zebra trail, and to me it was the best. The public viewing areas of the other sections were not crowded at all when we were there, so we got to see everything easily. I think the view seems too far away on the upper floors, but I read a post where they thought the lower view was limited to a small area, so you'll have to decide that one for yourself!

If you book a savanna view room then I woul suggest requesting a view of the Arusha Rock savanna and not requesting a trail. The trails that overlook the Arusha savanna also overlook the other savannas.

We just stayed on the Zebra trail. room 4052, Fabulous location, Animals all day. It was a Savaanah view. Immaculate room, the mousekeeper Laverne was so nice. You are so close to the pool. Mara and a laundry. It was ultra convienant. I would totally recommend it. In fact I will request same location in december.:)

JUst wondering where room 4052 would be located.. I am looking at my map and cannot find it... i will be faxing in 3 days.. I was requesting zebra trail .. arusha sav. close to the elevator to the Mara.. is this where your room was.. thanks..amy... did you have 2 queen beds...

Corvair, yes, thats exactly where my room was, I have stayed there before and had a great view, but, was way out there at the end of the Kudo trail. My son says it was room number 4502. Can you find that? I am having a room number brain camp. Of course in 3 days, I only left the room 3 times. But, had my little one not been sick..... Great location, Yes, It was 2 queen beds, and had an oversized balcony, was a corner room very quiet as well. I will request this in December. I can not wait. Have fun....

I had a room on Zebra trail, Uzima savannah that I loved. It was on the first wing so rooms on the other side of the hall had a pool view. Any way, it was close to the lobby, very close to the elevator to Mara and yet was a very quiet location. Had a third floor room and loved that view, too. I had requested King bed and Zebra trail and when I checked in around noon, Anthony showed me what was available for immediate occupancy. Of the choices he recommended this one. I'm glad he did. It was great.
