Since I have the standard dining plan and I'm staying for 7 nights, but have 8 table service reservations, what would everyone suggest being the one I pay for out of pocket amongst these:

-Tonys Town Square dinner (could potentially pass on dessert)
-Be Our Guest dinner (definitely want dessert)
-Sci-Fi drive in dinner (may want dessert and/or specialty drink)
-Akershus breakfast
-Garden Grill breakfast
-Tusker House dinner
-Boma Breakfast
-1900 Park fare dinner

Definitely one of your a la carte places. Check the menus and see what you might order.

Are you a single diner or a family? If there are two adults, you could split two of your a la cartes. The one ordering the most expensive entrée uses the DDP and the other one pays OOP, but you share the dessert.

It will be me and a friend but the friend won't be on the dining plan, just me. I pretty much know what I want as long as the menu doesn't change by the time I go in April, problem is the entrees I want all cost just about the same at the a la carte places, lol. I guess I should make up my mind which places I would definitely get dessert at and decide that way

I would consider paying OOP for Tony's Town, or just bypassing it, altogether. Had a horrible meal there. SAuce tasted like it came from a can or a jar. SO many other MK places you could go that are better.

B'fast at Boma is pretty cheap. I would tentatively plan on paying that one OOP, unless you find another along the way that you choose to order less than $26 in food.

Depending on how good friends you are, his OOP would be about the same cost to upgrade your plan from standard to Deluxe. Then you would have 21 credits, more than enough to cover both your meals w/appetizers. Of course, you'd have to work out splitting cost for the package and tips, so only do it if this is a friend you are comfortable with handling lots of financial transactions together.

I would say either Boma or Garden Grill. Are you eligible for any other discounts? AP, DVC, Disney VISA?

I'm not an AP holder or DVC member, nor do I have the Disney Visa, however the friend that I am with is possibly going to purchase an AP before the trip so I could potentially save a little that way on the OOP meal. However, those particular restaurants we chose all seem to only be eligible for 10% off as opposed to others that get 20%. So I'm still going to stay on the DDP either way.
