I'm planning a 2-week stay next March and want some advice as to where I should narrow my search.

I'm interested in timeshare condos, but not private-owned (like Windsor Hills or Vista Cay).

We're planning on going to WDW and Universal with relaxation days in between. We would like to stay at a "resort" feel with plenty to do for an 11 and 8-year-old.

We would like a good pool (for swimming, zero-entry not needed), with a bar/food counter by the pool, AND I don't want to have to drive to it! ;)

In the past, we've stayed at Cypress Pointe which was fine -- everything close together -- but not as much activities around during the day. We also stayed at Bonnet Creek, which was great for activities, but I missed not having a food court ... and something was just off, maybe because it wasn't finished at the time (only 3 buildings).:confused3

My DH would not likely be coming to the parks with us so I want a place he can unwind.

I know Marriott Cypress Harbour is touted as the best for a relaxing time, but I'm concerned about the size and distance to its own amenities. Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa is smaller, but seems more apartment-like to resort-like.

Distance to the parks is not a problem -- just want a relaxing, quiet spring break.

Opionions? :)

I'd suggest one of the Marriotts - the new Lakeshore Reserve, Cypress Harbour, Grande Vista, Harbour Lake or, possibly, Sabal Palms.

I wouldn't be concerned about the size of Cypress Harbour unless there's a mobility issue involved (and in that situation the concern about resort size would apply to almost any timeshare resort). Cypress Harbour is a fairly compact resort - particularly so if you stay in one of the buildings that surround the lake - and easily walkable from end to end, activities center to pools.

With the state of the Timeshare industry now, there are many, many choices. We own at Sheraton Vistana Resort and have also stayed at Sheraton Vistana Villages. Both are first rate, SVR is bigger and has more amenities (including food court).

Hilton Grand Vacation Club - I-Drive is another very popular resort. Good amenities, and has private access to one of the better outlet malls in the area. Also a Publix and Walgreens directly across the street. All 3 have great access to Disney, Downtown Disney, I-Drive attractions, and Sand Lake restaurant row.

Happy travels!

We hae also stayed at both Sheraton Vistana Villages and Sheraton Vistana Resort. Both are very nice and I would recommend them for a nice realxing time. Both usually have special rates that can be found through a link here, on Mousesavers or AllEars. Good luck. :thumbsup2
