HI ALL,

WE WILL BE TRAVELLING FROM THE UK THIS FALL AND HAVE A CHOICE OF THESE RESORTS,YOUR OPINIONS ARE WELCOMED.

VISTANA RESORT 2 BED UNIT
FAIRFIELD AT CYPRESS PALMS 1 BED UNIT
CELEBRATION WORLD RESORT 1 BED UNIT

MANY THANKS

SEAN

;)

Vistana gets my vote for 2 bedrooms, proximity to WDW, and the jacuzzi tub (bigger than the ones at Celebration World). Have you surfed the web for pictures? The only pictures I found of Fairfield were exterior, and I never book a hotel or B&B without seeing pictures of the rooms. Vistana is so close to WDW and everything else. It doesn't look like you can go too wrong with any of these choices.

Definitely Vistana...

Try not to get the Courts section as it is a little dated but you can not go wrong overall with Vistana.

You may also want to aks this question at www.tug2.net which is a timeshare owners site.

We have stayed at Fairfield Cypress Palms in a 2 bedroom which was 2-1 bedrooms together and it was really nice. A large one bedroom and very clean. Its a small resort with just a basic pool but everyone was really nice.

As far as Vistana there are actually a couple sections that seem to be less desireable but the totally worst is the Courts. If you can avoid that section you should be ok. The resort is much larger then Fairfield with multiple pools etc.

Havent been to Celebration.

I would also base my decision on if you really need a 2 bedroom. Would a 1 bedroom be too small?

Many thanks for the replies.
DianeV the 2 bed issue just depends on whether BIL and SIL decide too come with us if they don't we will be fine in a 1 bed.

If going for a 1 bed would you choose Vistana and if so which section should one try and request ?
We stayed at Silver Lake last year in a 1 bed and it was huge and very nice but won't have enough points too stay there this time,Vistana does seem very reasonable and from things I've read it gets good reviews.
If there are any others you can recommend besides these I would be grateful,we are exchanging through RCI so there is a big choice it just depends on there points rates for when we're there.

Sorry too go on
Thanks
Sean.

Vistana wins hands down for any size unit. I know some people don't like the Courts area but I know others who do like it so don't worry. The biggest units are the older ones. We own in Fountains II and our unit is huge. 2 BR has 1 king bed, 2 doubles and a Queen sleeper, plus a screen porch. There is no unit more than a 2 min. walk to the pool. We have loved our every stay there.

At Vistana the 1 bedroom units are in the Lakes and Cascades sections which are the newest and are really nice. The resort is large and has multiple pools.

Resorts in Orlando we have stayed at:
Hilton
Embassy
Sunterra Grand Beach
Vistana
Both Cypress Pointes
Silver Lake
Fairfield

Would recomend any of those.

I have heard Vistana Villages is really nice as is Oasis Lakes (hard to get as its a small resort) - We sent a friend to Summer Bay and she had a horrible experience but others have liked the place.

Oh I forgot we also stayed at Westgate Villas and would not recommend them. Their inconsistency on their units is not worth it in my opinion.

Just a quick note, Celebration World resort 1 bedrooms are very small, well equipped with washer, dryer and everything else, even a screened porch.. but still very small compared to the others in the area. BUt,, that said, I 'd stay there again. I loved the area, clean and very nice staff!

We always need 2BRs so that would make the decision for us. If the 1BR would suffice, my preferences would be for Fairfield first IF you will have a FULL kitchen, which are the larger, nicer 1BRs. Fairfield offers the consistently nicest rooms, of these three resorts, IMHO. My second choice would be Vistana, for its location and many, very nice pool areas. Celebration World Resort has decent reviews but seems like a more limited resort with simpler rooms.

Here are the resort websites, with photos of the units. HTH.
Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms
Sheraton Vistana Resort
Celebration World Resort

Thanks Lisa P. I think you gave me some good advice about Silver Lakes before our trip there last November,we had a fantastic time and the 1 bed unit was huge and we were very impressed by this resort,we would stay there again if we had enough points but alas I don't think we will.
Anyway hopefully we will only need a 1 bed unit and would welcome any other resort recommendations you guys may have but they need to be RCI.

Sean.

Sean, as an exchanger, you would benefit greatly from joining TUG - Timeshare Users Group so that you could read the resort reviews. It's $15/first year and well worth it for anyone who exchanges each year.

There are many terrific resorts in the Orlando area. Most have multiple reviews by TUG members. Based on the details given in these reviews, you would be able to get a pretty good idea of which are best suited to your needs and what to expect.

We would be very happy with any of these RCI resorts (alphabetical order):

Cypress Harbour (Marriott)
Cypress Pointe Grandvillas
Cypress Pointe Resort
Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms
HGVC at Sea World
Oasis Lakes
Royal Palms (Marriott)
Sabal Palms (Marriott)
Sheraton Vistana Villages
Silver Lakes Resort

We would also be willing to try a trade into any of these RCI resorts (alphabetical order):

Celebration World Resort
Embassy at Grand Beach
Orange Lake CC
Sheraton Vistana Resort
Sunterra Grand Beach
Sunterra Polynesian Isles
Vacation Village at Parkway

There are a few others that we would accept if they were all that was available and we needed reservations under 60 days ahead. HTH!

I would say Vistana Resort. I used to work for a major timeshare exchange company known by three letters. For the entire 13 years I was there, Vistana was consitently a top rated resort by the members.
