Which style Tevas for WDW?

Hi! I was wondering about sizing. Do they run large, should I buy a size smaller? I've waited to order a pair b/c I've heard they run large. Also, how water friendly are the leather ones? I like the rugged leather pair from pictures but wondered how they'd fair in rain. Thanks!

Going in August, can't wait!

They run a little large IMHO but I'd try them on in a store before I'd buy them if I were you.

I have the leather and wear them all day everyday at Disney and when I wore them in August and got caught in a horrible rain storm, they got wet and because they are not nylon they did take a bit longer then the nylon to dry but they did dry probably within an hour, hour and a half. But the good news is I didn't get a blister from walking around in them while they were still wet. So, because they are leather they take longer to dry but they held up well and were still pretty comfy. I LOVE them. I find them more comfy then the nylon ones.

I recommend the Terra-FI2's. $83 but they are better than a sneaker for all summer long, not just Disney. Awesome sandals.

I just bought a pair of Teva Leather Ruggeds. I spent about an hour and a half trying sandals on at tThe Walking Company. The salesman thought I was crazy! ~laughing~

Anyway, they were/are sooooooo comfortable. I walked out of the store in them and walked the whole Mall. I can't wait to walk WDW in them.

Thanks to all on this board for telling me about them.

I've always been a Shoe Person, flip flops to the pool only, never all day walking.

However on my last park trip, considering the afternoon showers and the desire to wet my feet in the fountains to cool off, I began thinking sandal type might be the way to go. I have been reading the Croc and Teva threads here. Will get some to try.

I would never wear a totally open toe. On my last trip I spent all day dodging the Baby Stroller Commando Army trying to ram my feet. :teeth: One hit and I'm limping and my visit is ruined.

Recently I saw some great footwear and kick myself for not asking what kind they were and where to buy them. They look similar to the Teva Dozer. All black, covered toe, a few water drain and air holes in the toe area, semi open in the heel. They definitely take getting dunked in salt water repeatedly all day and lots of walking on concrete. The trainers at the dolphin feeding pool at Sea World wear them.

Next DIS going to SW, please ask a trainer what kind they are and post it here.

After reading so much about Tevas on this board I decided to try them too - I decided to try sandals this summer to avoid my usual sock tan lines that I get wearing my Nikes. But I have very small feet (normally women's 5 or 6) and after many trials ended up with a kid's size 3 in the Hurricanes. So I can attest to the fact that these run large! If you want to order online, Famous Footwear has some styles and has free shipping over $50 (gave me an excuse to buy other shoes too!) And if they don't fit, you can return them to your local store rather than returning through the mail.

I walk 2+ miles every day for exercise and have been wearing these for the last week to break them in for our trip this summer. No blisters so far!

Oh, and I tried Crocs too, and they were too big and did give me blisters.

FlaNative -

Were the shoes you saw Keens? I saw someone with those on last week and thought they looked like the Teva Dozers.

Tava Stratum sandals served me well during my two trips to see Mickey last year...Never had sore feet and liked the cushiony feeling of the soles! :thumbsup2

I just bought a pair of Teva Olawahus. I love them. I got a good deal at DSW for them. $16.99 The fabric straps are brown and black so they go with everything that I own. I tried on the Mush flip flops while there but preferred these as I have a lot of flip flops already and these are a little different style.

By the recommendations last year on these boards, I purchased Teva's also before our trip to Disney. After trying on a few pair, I found that the Terra Fi sandals where very comfortable. They cost quite a bit more than a similar type (may have been the Cross Terra 2, that's more expensive this year than what I remember last year) but I found the Terra Fi to be a lot more comfortable. I wear them all summer long, especially when I go to my local park to walk. I don't like spending much money (ok, I'm a bit cheap) but these were well worth it to me.

I'd suggest going to a store that specializes in walking shoes, such as Eastern Mountain Sports or The Walking Company and trying on a few different styles. Then you can go online & see if you can get them at a better price.

Enjoy your vacation & treat your tootsies good so they treat you good in return!

Another Teva Dozer fan here! I buy the guys tho as my foot is fairly wide and they just fit me better. I like having my toes protected/covered in crowded places...been stepped on too many times, or bumped my toe...so that ia what drew me to the Dozer style. DH hates them, says they are the ugliest things and will most likely walk either far ahead of me or far behind me at WDW....but I will be walking far more comfortably than he will !

Two days before my trip, I finally broke down and bought the Teva Pretty Rugged II in leather (they were out of nylon in my size). They worked very well. I needed a day or two to break them in - the second night the top of my foot was starting to rub a bit and I was afraid of getting a blister - but nothing developed and they were so comfortable. :thumbsup2

Me, DW, and DD all recently bought the Teva Dozer. They are super light weight, and comfy ! Good looking too ! We will definately be wearing them around the "World".

I have four pairs of these and I love them! I have flat feet and these are great for me in the parks (and every other day)! :sunny:
