Which stores will price match?

On Black Friday I would go through the toy ads and circle/mark the toy and then head to toys R us but I heard this year they aren't price matching anymore....
So how about Target? Walmart? any others?

Walmart is the only store around here that price matches. But I'm not sure they will on Black Friday. I have a feeling they are going to be limiting this.

I did some ad matching last year at Wal-Mart. They did match but the store that printed the add could not be out of the item. I don't know how they know if the other store is out of the item or not, but I was there early and the other stores had just opened.

I called toys r us coorporate and they will not this year. Its the first year they are not price matching. Big mistake I think. Walmart says they will but Toys r us is not posting prices in there ad paper just percents so you can't go somewhere else.

Our Target doesn't price match. I emailed corporate and their reply was that it wasn't fair that their other customers didn't get the same price. My reply was Ok, I just spent the 400.00 I usually spend at your store the day after Thanksgiving at Kmart. Not only did they price match anybody, they price matched a raincheck slip from Target! And I shop for myself and other people, so it adds up! The more I can get done in one trip, the better. I am almost always done and home by 10 a.m.

The year before last, our Best Buy price matched percentages, but they don't do this anymore. That's too bad about Toys R'Us.

I'll have to call Kmart and see if they are still price matching. I know a lot of people don't like them, but our store is always clean and the employees are friendly and helpful.

K-Mart's having our usual 5 hour sale on black friday. Not sure if we price match, I'm usually clueless when it comes to policy, I just ring people up.

Thank god I always get fridays off.

I've found that Walmart is the best place for price-match of anykind. I shop for groceries there weekly. I have my list of competitor's ad prices (other grocery stores, pharmacies, other retailers such as Target, Kmart) and give them the competitor's price as they scan each item. I usually end up saving close to 20% off my weekly groceries and household supplies.

If you are doing it for Blitz (Black Friday) it'll prob be hit or miss as most stores (us included) as all of our specials and alot of competitors are *not* items we normally carry in one form or another (ie it has a freebie, new color, etc that gives it a new barcode) the best example is last years My First Leappad- The blitz version was Red with an additional book which made it special from the Regular Blue version, so we couldnt price match the blue after we ran out as it "wasnt the same item"

I am going to Walmart this year. I already went and put the stuff that will be on sale in Layaway so i don't have to fight people for the things I want. I will be collecting the sale papers this week so i can price adjust at layaway.

I have to say I really do enjoy reading about the bargain hunting habits of many on this board. You guys are very inspiring!

Personally, you couldn't get me anywhere near a retail outlet with a cash register on a day called "black friday" unless they were giving out million dollar checks, but that's just me.

I can say:

the Kmart in Wayne did pricematch, does not price match anymore, but they USED to.
The Walmart in Valley Forge (off 422) did NOT price match
The Best Buy in Plymouth Meeting did, but no longer
The Target in Plymouth Meeting did, but no longer.


I can say:

Staples and Office Max has a price match guarantee (vouched for in the Mt. Laurel NJ stores)

Compusa and Circuit City price Match (able to do this in the Mt. Laurel store as well)

Sears will pricematch and give you 10% of the difference. They have a lot of toys there with them being tied to KB Toys during the holidays.

Reading all this I wonder if I am the only one who sometimes is willing to pay more for service? For example, both my local KMart and WalMart are dirty and have really rude staff... So I tend to stick to Target even if it costs a little more.

The Walmart here has a sign up at the layaway that they will not price adjust current layaway items for Black Friday. It says they will cancel the layaway but not return items to stock immediately. - I hope your store will do it for you.
