We will be staying at SSR Nov 21-26 (anybody else staying then!?!). Wondering if I'd rather be at the buildings labeled #14 or #16 (I forgot what those groups of building refered to as??) in the following map:

www.barrybedford.com/dvc/ssropeningmap.shtml

I think my preference would be either:

#14 labeled November/October 04 for it's proximity to the main pool and the boat dock

vs.

#16 July 5 04 for it's views of DD, access to DD via the path and the quiet pool.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this???

My favorites would be the same as yours Barry. #14 buildings are in the Springs area and #16 buildings are in Congress Park.

My favorites could change, depending on what amenities they add to Phase III! :D

I believe our would be #16 as they over look DTD. My question then is which building in Congress Park has the best view of DTD. Anyone know????

Just wondering - have those opening dates been verified by DVC?
I thought there was supposed to be a gap between opening of the first 4 buildings and the next 8. When I stayed there in June, it seemed like the first 'Springs' building was way more than 1 month construction time behind the last 'Congress Park' building.

Barry posted about the opening dates he added to the map. If you do a quick search (last 30 days) you might find it. I believe he got the information from SSR CMs while he was there in June. Considering how quickly the Springs and the Paddock buildings are coming along - I'm not surprised they moved up the opening schedule.

When we were there in June, it seemed kind of sad to see the third and fourth buildings of Phase I (Congress Park) just sitting there empty waiting for people. :D

Katie: Found it, thanks. One sure does miss a lot when they're away from the boards for a few weeks!

Hi all,

As Katie pointed out, when we were doing an add-on for SSR (couldn't resist and this is already our home resort!!!!!) our guide and also another stand-in guide the following day confirmed that the springs would begin opening in September. They were really concerned that the building work was putting people off, although I was also informed that over 11,000 contracts were now in place (we were #2882 - Oct 03)!!!!!!!

dvc_john - I understand! We're leaving on a two week trip to WA state tomorrow and I'm going to miss a lot here!

I agree with that. We were there the first week of June and wanted to stay the night of June 6 also. Only the first building was open then, and there were Cast Members testing out the second building. They were staying for free, we wanted to pay points, and they wouldn't let us. :(

We are going back in early October, so it will be interesting to see the difference in one building being open and several buildings being open.

I was partial to a view of Willow Lake when it was DI. So I probably would like to stay in whatever section of SSR that is consistent with that.
