We want to do a sleigh ride over Christmas while we're there. We were planning to do the one at Wilderness Lodge, but then read that the one at Ft. Wilderness was more fun because the cabins are decorated for Christmas.

Which would you do? :santa:

We wanted to get a ressie for the carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness, but were told because of something special going on only sleigh rides at Wilderness Lodge were available. Needless to say we were disappointed. Hopefully we will enjoy the sleigh ride. Good luck to you.:santa:

We will be there during the first 2 weeks of December. I'm trying to plan lots of fun stuff and thought I had it all handled...however I have not heard of the sleigh rides. Please share details and where to I call to make a ressie?

Wildreness Lodge Holiday Sleigh Rides 2007:

Holidays at Walt Disney World

Back for the Christmas Holidays, this horsdrawn "sleigh" ride is a fun way to celebrate the season at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Price: $35.00 (including tax)

Can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under.

Offered from 12/1 thru 12/30/06. This 25 minute sleigh ride departs every 30 minutes from 5:30 - 9:30pm. (Note that on 12/24, the hours are 4:00 - 8:00pm)

Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY

Anyone visiting during these dates that would enjoy booking this should call and book ASAP. Dates will fill-up quickly.

Good Luck

I called today and made our reservation. I was also told that they're only at Wilderness Lodge. We are going on December 19 before dinner at Whispering Canyon...because the latest they had that day was 7:00! We were planning on dinner at 7:10 and then sleigh ride after, but that was rearranged!

Call now because it looks like they're booking fast!

Reservations can be made at 90 days out....not before.

This may be a dumb question but how do they have a sleigh ride with no snow? Isn't it just a carriage ride? Is the price per person or per carriage?

Yes it is a carriage made up to look like a sleigh. Price is per carriage.

:yay: :yay: We booked for Dec 10th after our dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe!!!:yay: :yay:

The only problem....our dinner is at 5:20pm. What if we get out with 2 hrs to kill before sleigh ride time? Any suggestions??

Here's a picture of what the sleigh looks like--

Thanks for the pic. Are 2 seats facing each other? From the picture it only looks like one seat facing forward..but I can't imagine that seat would hold 4 people.

The CM I spoke with today said you could bring your own drinks on the ride! Maybe hot cocoa or...CHAMPAGNE!!:thumbsup2

I liked the FW carriage ride better at Christmas because of the decorated campsites. Its a little hard to find tho:santa: .

I had heard that the one at FW was more festive for that reason, that you could see all of the decorated campsites. However, when I called I specifically asked if there were also sleigh rides at FW and they said that no, they were just at WL :confused3

Last year when we went to HOOP-DEE-DOO we drove and left the car in the parking lot & took the bus ...... even just on the regular bus system you can enjoy the sites! Some are amazing

Maybe it's the terminology that the CM was getting confused with. The "sleigh" ride is only available at the WL during the holiday. The "carriage" ride is available at FW, SSR and POR all year. I'd give WDW-PLAY a call back and hopefully you can get what you're looking for.

You're right! I called this afternoon and the carraige ride is being offered at FW during Christmas time. And it had a lot more openings than the sleigh ride at WL! Thanks so much!! :santa:

We did the carriage ride at FW last year and it was very nice. The horse had jingle bells on his harness and a little hat. The campsites/lights/decorations were so cool! We are trying the sleigh ride this year.
