Which Signature?

My mother and I have never been to a Signature restaurant outside of the parks (We love Brown Derby and went to Coral Reef several years ago). We decided to have dinner at a Signature restaurant on our upcoming October trip and I'm having trouble deciding. Our main two choices are California Grill or Artist Point, though we're open to others. I think the Artist Point menu appeals to me a little more, but the atmosphere of CG seems better, especially if we can watch the MK fireworks.

Any opinions are welcome. We won't be on any Disney dining plan, and location isn't a huge issue, since we won't be visiting a park on the day we go to the signature dinner. We plan to just relax most of the day at our resort, maybe hit DTD for a couple hours, then get dressed up and go to dinner.

Cali grill was our fav signature restaurant last visit. We made adrs for our visit in June. The food was excellent, great service, and awesome atmosphere. That being said, I've never been to artists point...

After Cali grill, I'd pick jiko.

Hands down I would go to the Cal Grill. Just totally amazing. You are completely immersed in Disney up there. Nobody is walking around that doesn't belong.

It is strictly people eating and the room and view are amazing!!

No contest!!

Both AP and CG are fantastic. If you think APs menu appeals to you more, you could always eat there and then catch the fireworks from the WL beach or dock after dinner??

I'll rank them for you...with food being the lions share of the score...ambience gets too much of a bump on disney sites...

for instance - the california grill looks out first and foremost on the magic kingdom SERVICE AREA...its neat...but not worth spending 100 bucks and up for if the food isn't' right.

luckily the food is good there...but here's my list:

1.Jiko
2.Bistro de Paris
3.California Grill
4. Artist's Point
5. Citricos (used to be higher...prices have outpaced even the ridiculous increases elsewhere)
6. Brown Derby
7. Flying Fish
8. Yachtsmans
9. Narcoossees

I think that's all of them

Mom and I loved California Grill and our experience there. We had a window side table and watched the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom while we were eating dessert. We paid OOP and our bill was less than $100 with tip included.

Never dined at the other, can't help there.

Artist Point is my favorite signature, while California Grill is one of my least favorites (from a food standpoint).

Both CG and AP are wonderful, food and service. The WL is so magestic and not to be missed, however, the view of Wishes at CG is fantastic. I know I'm not helping, but at least you know either would be great.

California Grill is wonderful. Plus the view from the restaurant is beautiful. However, one of my absolute favorite signature restaurants is Flying Fish Cafe. We just love it. Delicious food and short stroll into the back gate of Epcot after dinner. :thumbsup2

I prefer Artist Point to Cali Grill. We ate at Cali Grill in January and it was so noisy!!!!

The one signature that I've not eaten at in a very long time is Narcoosees and I've only good memories of the food and atmosphere, so that's the next signature on my list.
