Hi
I will be going on the Eastern Carribean Cruise on the Disney Magic.
I will have a Cat. 6 room with veranda.
Is there a better side of the ship to be on for great views?
Thanks!

we were port side (6088) and were able to watch all the docking activities, the Golden Princess pull in next to us and a view of the island (before the Golden arrived) as we docked in St. Maarten and had a view of St. Thomas while we were anchored in the harbor.

We had the dock and ocean side view of CC. Most like to be able to see the beach areas. 2 out of 3 ain't bad :teeth:

We have been on two Easterns, one time on port side and one time on starboard. Both times we tendered in St. Thomas (we went the same week January so that must be the Magic's turn to tender).

The first time, we were in 6092, which is port side. The verandah faces away from the DCL terminal, so we were not able to wave to the CMs saying goodbye to the ship. However, if you go to the sail-away party, that is not a big deal. When we tendered in St. Thomas, our cabin overlooked the city, so we spent much of the time sitting on the verandah watching the water taxi's etc. . . very relaxing. At CC, the ship backed in, so we looked away from the main part of the Island. Our view was more of the open ocean, which was very, very pretty as well.

We were in 6548 (starboard) our second Eastern. We liked this b/c it was fun to waive to the CM at the terminal from our verandah. ALSO!!! On the starboard side you can see the Wonder coming back from CC at about 11:00 p.m. the night we sail away. We had learned that on the boards, and it was fun watching for her. In St. Thomas, we tendered again and had a view of the main dock. It was fun looking at the mega ships and the view of the mountain where the tram sits was also pretty. On CC day, we backed in again, and had a view of the main island. NOTE: We have backed into CC on all of our 5 cruises.
I don't think the side of the ship mattered at all in St. Maartern.

So, in summary, we happen to think both sides are pretty good. On our next cruise we are back to port side (6048). If we tender, I like the view of St. Thomas, but it really does not matter b/c I think all the views are pretty. . . and it is better than being in MN in the middle of January. LOL. :rotfl:
