We took our kids to a 4D Sponge Bob Movie at Shedds Aquarium this summer and my dd5 is now scared to go to ANY movie theater for fear of being sprayed with water. Can you tell me which shows have water in them? I know It's Tough To Be A Bug had a little bit, but we have never been to Philharmagic, and it has been 10 years since we have been to Disney.

Thanks

Hi! I see you're new.. WELCOME to the DISBoards!!! :welcome:

Muppets 3-D definitely does this as does Honey I Shrunk the Audience and as you noted, Tuff to be a Bug.

I don't recall anything like this in Philharmagic.

Oh yes, Philharmgic has at least a couple of times with splashes.

Remember the Sorcerer's Apprentice brooms?

And Fantasmic! has the huge water-screens that can spray guests (or at least mist them) seated in the first 10-15, or so, rows of the theater on nights with the wind blowing IN.

RIIIIGHT..

I've only been on that once and its been awhile back.. Good catch!

It's unfortunate for a kid who hates getting wet to have all these attractions do that!?

philharmagic does in the sorcerer's apprentice scene (i'm pretty sure). where it's actually meant to be water.

voyage of the little mermaid rains on the audience (although it can be somewhat avoided for the most part by sitting on the ends)

catastrophe canyon can get you wet (sit on the right side to avoid most of it).

stitch spits during both stitch's great escape (i think it's primarily in the middle area of the theatre) and at the world of disney downtown

and of course water based attractions can get you wet.

Thank you. You guys are fast. We are going in January and Splash is closed, I am not going on Kali. I guess I need to come up with some sort of clear plastic thing on a stick she can hold in front of her face  Her 3 sisters won't be happy missing EVERY show. Or maybe I can just randomly shoot her with a spray bottle over the next couple of months to get her used to it :rolleyes1 Just kidding.

The Little Mermaid show definitely has the most water sprays - I did feel like I was getting rained on.

I roared laughing when I read this... sounds like something I might do.

And THAT is why I'll never be a parent. (Well.. one of the reasons..)

Well the water is not directly aimed at your face. What about putting a poncho on her to keep her dry? She will already be wearing the 3D glasses for Philarmagic so she should stay quite dry.

Ohhhh the pre show at the back lot tour! If you are standing near the front rail, its a good chance you will get wet!

And the camels on the Magic Carpet ride spit... My DS used to have an aversion to being sprayed with water, so I hate how every show and many other attractions involve water like this. Usually, if we would tell him ahead of time and he could cover his eyes, he was fine. We just had to be careful of surprises.

Saw Philharmagic this past Wednesday and got squirted.

I would definitely try to take your daughter to Mickey's Philharmagic. In my opinion, it's one of the Top Three attractions in the Magic Kingdom -- classic Disney in my opinion.

As long as you prep your daughter, maybe you could try it? If you want specifics about the show, I'm certain that people would be able to let you know exactly what happens and when.

As for Muppets 3D, while there definitely is a point you get sprayed with water, it's fairly obvious (I believe it's when Fozzie is using a squirting flower). It's only this one spot (I think) and it is very quick.

With preparation, maybe you wouldn't have to miss these great classic 3D shows!

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience also has a brief water squirt (when the dog sneezes).

Yeah, my DDD didn't care for being misted with water and started crying, but after a few seconds of Daddy holding her, she was ok. She's such a Daddy's little girl. LOL
