Which should I do?

We are staying another night in January! Since I already have a room only ressie and am changing to a pkg just as soon as the rates come out. Do I add the extra night now or wait until I change to a pkg?

You might as well wait. When you change to a package they will cancel your existing reservation and create a new one anyway, so adding the night now is somewhat meaningless.

We did that for our Oct trip, I booked the extra night as soon as I knew we needed it and if a discounted room opens up then I will try and have my rate adjusted.
