Which season program is best?

Hey there Kristen!

It really depends on what time of the year you want to be there. I personally love Fall, (which also has an Advantage program), because I get to be there for the Holidays and my birthday. Mind you, it's a lot more hours for the Fall because of the holiday rush, but you will get a similar rush for Spring Break.

What'd I do is look up both seasons on DIS to see the different events going on for each. Which ones would you like to go more? Also talking it over with family and get their opinions...

Entertainment is a possibility at both, so that's not a worry.

The number one thing is to make sure you don't have anything over the summer that would prevent you from doing Fall Advantage. When I went to do my program I really wanted to do Fall Advantage but my sister was getting married in June and I couldn't miss the wedding. The only downfall (which is also viewed as an upside) is being there for the holidays. It was extremely hard for me to be there at first but my family came down for new years and even though I had to work it was an awesome experience.

I can't tell you anything about the Spring Advantage but I'm sure it would be nice to be there in Jan and Feb cause of the weather. I hope that helps. :goodvibes

I did 2 programs and did both spring and fall, and both had their advantages and disadvantages...spring is nice because it's not too busy except for spring break, and there's some really fun special events then. But, if you can stick it out and handle being away from your family through the holidays, the fall program is really nice...you get to be there for all of the Christmas decorations, and things that go along with that, which is so much fun, plus you get the Halloween party, and the Christmas party...there's always something going on, and it's a lot of fun...but it does get a little rough come Christmas...so if it's your first time away, I'd say spring, but if not, go for the fall! It's a blast!

I have done both Spring (then extended over the summer) and Fall Advantage. I would do FA again in a heartbeat. I loved being down in FL for the holidays. I loved getting to be there for my birthday (July). And there are also the events that take place in May that you would miss if you do just Fall (SWW, Flower and Garden Festival, ect).

Disney during holidays = WIN

i would honestly recomend applying for just a regular program because its only 4 months or so, and you always have the option of extending to make it an advantage program. that way you get to test out the waters and decide if its for you before you leap in. i know some people that loved it, like myself, and some people that hated it and decided to self term. i did spring, and liked it because i got to be home for the holidays and i got to work grad night. that was fun. spring break will make you cry depending on your job. i was working 60 hour weeks.

thank you for all of the info everyone!
i want to do the fall 09 program, the june through january one, but i don't think i can wait. haha. i'm going to apply for the spring 09 [january through august] but i think i'll definitely do the fall program at a later time. :]

Hey. If you end up doing Spring 2009, I might see you down there. I plan on doing that one too, then staying for good.

I'm hoping to do the spring CP next year, I chose spring for exactly two reasons, both about as equally very important...
Football season is in the fall, and I NEVER miss home games (GO COUGS!)
Hurricane season is in the fall, and I'd rather not be there for that

Hey do you go to Washington State University? Just wondering because you said Go Cougs. I go to WSU and it's cool to know other people who want to do this program from Washington.

Oh and I am hoping to do Fall 08 mainly because I graduate in May, but also because I would love to be there for all of the major holidays!

Heck yes I'm a WSU student! Finally someone else crazy about disney and not afraid to show it.
You may actually recognize me if you go to the football games, I'm in the Legion of Coug, the crazy group of people in the front row who show up 4 hours before kickoff dressed up in pads spikes and everything outrageous we can think of... I'm the stormtrooper:

in fact, anyone who's watched a home game on tv has probably seen us...

i want to be there during holidays but i can't wait!! maybe i'll do two programs.

That's what I plan on doing. I am going to do Spring 2009, extend it til the next Jan, and then hopefully go FT.

so if i really love it, when my program is over in august if i do spring advantage '09, i can extend it to do fall '09 too?

& what do you plan to do at disney when you go full time job-wise?

You can extend for up to a year. So say you do Spring Advantage 2009 (Jan-Aug). You can extend til Jan 2010.

I want to work FT in entertainment. I am trained as a character attendant, but I really want to be a performer. However, if I can't get performer, I will just stay with attendant.

On the note of being away for the holidays...

I have never done the program before, and I a still waiting to hear if I made it into the program or not.. and I was a little nervous at first when I thought of being away from home for Christmas... but then I thought about it. All of us are going to be away from our family for the holidays.. so we are in it together. We'll be going through the same stuff. Plus we all are going to be incredibly busy since it's a crazy season then.

So yeah it's going to be hard... but we'll all get through it!!! (we.. assuming that I get in.. hahah!)
