Which scratching post

I think my cats would prefer A, because of the large cubby hole to sleep in.

I would choose "A" for sure. I couldn't stand having a monstrosity like "B" in my house!

Take a look at overstock.com. I got a very nice one for our cats and it was quite a bit less than amazon.

a...and then when I brought it home my cats would play with it for a day and then never touch it again.

My cats have consistently ignored any of those kinds of climber/scratch posts. They prefer natural things like split firewood with bark on it. I just put a couple pieces on the floor, side by side and they use it and sit on it. Yeah, I have to sweep up the bark once in a while but they really love it.

We have a couple cheap ones that lay flat on the floor and our cats like to scratch and lay on them. They wouldn't use the upright ones.

I think "A" would go over best. :cat::cat:

We have A and our 2 cats love it!

The only thing is that is not the highest quality. We have had it for a few years and have had to replace parts of it. The freestanding platforms on top are made from cardboard tubing, which has been replaced with PVC pipe, they've needed additional bracketing, and a few other minor repairs have been done here and there. For the money, we are happy with it though and the repairs are minor compared to making a cat tower by ourselves.

I think A would be best. There're plenty of cubby holes and the height gives them a way to show their obvious superiority :)

A it then. I know they like the upright ones I brought one of the angelica cat company ones 8 years ago and they love it.

Definitely A...because it has the high places for the cats to sit and be the king of the mountain! My cats hardly sit in the lower levels of ours but they love the areas at the top! With B it seems bigger, but it doesn't really seem to have the high places to sit, it's more oriented towards the base.

thanks a is on order so there will be happy cats. I am hoping a new post will be usable for the new boy he wont use the ones my cat have and he is a lovely old boy. I got him last year when his owner moved house and let him out straight away he started peeing on the carpet and she wouldn't keep him.

We have A and our cats love it. Let me say "A" takes up a lot of room and I would not want something as big as "B."

They love to scratch the rope posts and live on the top two levels. They have never shown an interest in the cubbies, so I store their massive toy collection in those. They play on it, scratch it, sleep on it. We have had to put it in storage while the house was on the market and they are UNHAPPY with that. They need their hangout.

I got a beige/tan one so it would blend better with my colors.

The bad news is that not all of the platforms are made of wood. Some are particle board. The second my cat hit 7 pounds and jumped on that platform, it broke. But I called and they sent a new one. DH reinforced it with solid wood underneath and it is fine now. But my advice would be to reinforce the particle board platforms with wood BEFORE you assemble it.

We are thinking of getting one for the gameroom as the babies need a second story hangout.
