Which School Holiday Is Least Crowded?

So, my kids are at an age that we can no longer pull them out of school for 4-5 days. So we are stuck going to WDW over a school holiday. This year, we are trying the Thurs-Monday of Columbus Day weekend bc my kids have fall break. For years, I had heard it was less crowded then, but more recent research tells me maybe not so much anymore.

We've done WDW the week between Christmas and New Years, and we're never doing that again.

One year we did Spring Break at a time when Easter fell after the break (rare). That wasn't too bad, I'd say crowds were a 6 or 7, but that timing re: Easter won't happen again for a while.

A couple of years ago, we went the week after Memorial Day, because our schools break early for summer. I'd have said the crowds were about a 7 or so.

So, for all us who have no other choice but to go when the kids are out of school: of all the holiday/school break times, which are the least crowded in your opinion/experience?

We have been during February break (Presidents Day week), April (not near Easter) and Spring Break (March). They were all pretty busy, crowds 7-9, but the March trip was the most crowded, with a couple days that certainly felt like 10. I have not been during Columbus Day, but would love to try it, so this would be my vote. This year, with 2 now in college and one in high school, our only option is summer, so we're going late August. First time in the summer, should be interesting, but I'm really looking forward to it.

They are all very similar to a summer crowd (early summer, not peak summer) with the longer end of year xmas break being the one that doesn't follow that logic.. The major holidays like 4th of july, thanksgiving and easter weekend are also higher than others but it tends to be that day it's really high and the rest of the weekend is like summer unlike the end of year where it's just crazy from mid dec into jan.

I was kind of wondering about Presidents Day weekend bc my kids have a break over that time too.

presidents day will be similar to the lines you would see right now if you open the mde app and check wait times. (the first week of spring break is right now and the locals are all off for it).. but it's also cold to a floridian so many are hiding inside so the numbers might be a little lower than you'll see.

edit to add: actually right now might be higher, I haven't seen a 1am close on a wednesday in a very long time.

Probably Labour day.

But I'm sure that's notmideal. Which would be why it's the least crowded. :flower:
