Which S/SE U.S. AAA Offices Giving Diamond Parking Passes With Ticket Purchase?

I checked with my Houston AAA office. I am willing to buy my MYW 7 Day Park Hoppers thru AAA if I can also get a AAA Diamond Parking Pass. It is not available. I have seen many other DISers from other parts of the country are able to receive a pass from their local AAA without booking a full travel package (resort/tix/etc.) thru AAA. Some are given the pass with ticket purchase while others are just given the pass without any purchase.

I will be driving from Houston to Florida. I would be willing to purchase the tickets at any AAA office along the route. Can anyone recommend one that will issue the Diamond pass along with ticket purchase?

TIA!

I'm not sure you can buy at a different office. I believe you have to be a member of that particular area.

I really don't think it's worth the hassle. Yes, the 'special' parking is nice but it isn't all that terrific.

Thanks for answering, goofy4tink. I didn't even consider the fact that I might not be able to purchase at other locations. I just made the assumption that since I am a AAA member I could use the services anywhere. Guess I need to delve into that further!

We actually used our AAA Diamond Pass a few years ago when we booked our entire vacation through them. For us, it was worth its weight in gold! One of my children is differently-abled, but does not need close-in handicapped parking on a routine basis. However, for WDW touring, the Diamond parking areas are much appreciated by us. Since we are not staying at a Disney resort this trip and using their transportation, then I am really hoping to get a AAA Diamond Parking Pass. That is why I am willing to pay more for tix thru AAA rather than Undercover Tourist.

Again, thanks for your help.

You can buy at a different office, but my offices in both ATL and BNA don't give them without packages.

The real story is they aren't suppose to give them without the package. So what happens is that SOMETIMES an agent at the office will give one, but the truth is that it's probably the luck of the draw so even if you drive to that office you might not get lucky. Is it really worth adding several hours to your drive to "hopscotch" from one to the next asking "can I have a pass" ?

AAANY only gives parking passes to members who purchase a package.

Its possible a different office will sell a member from another part of the country tickets but only give the parking pass to a member of that area.

I agree with the PP. I wouldn't ride around hoping to find an office that will offer a parking pass to a non-member (of that location) who only purchases tickets.

I book my WDW package directly with WDW. About a month before the final payment is due I transfer the reservation to my AAA (not local) travel agent. She makes the final payment and receives credit for the booking and I get the AAA booklet with the discount card, other passes and the AAA Diamond Parking pass.

I called 2 AAA offices near me. One said they give them only with the package while the other said they would give them if I purchased tickets for 5days or longer.

If you buy WDW tickets thru the link on the AAA website (which redirects you to the disney site), it says off to the side "AAA benefits" which says that they will email or send you a diamond parking pass after purchase. I wonder if you can get it if you only buy 1 ticket thru them and the rest thru Undercover Tourist.....

I bought one 6 day PH in St. Louis, and received a Parking Pass. Purchased the rest from Undercover Tourist and saved $$.

How do you transfer the reservation to AAA? I just booked my trip directly with WDW and right after that I found about the parking pass. We just got the membership at Christmas and are not familiar with the benefits.

I fax a note to my AAA travel agent which authorizes AAA to take over my reservation. She faxes that to WDW and they reissue the reservation to AAA with a new number. My AAA agent forwards that info to me, then I have my AAA agent make the final payment to WDW with my credit card. A few weeks before the trip my AAA agent sends me my booklet with the diamond pass, luggage tags and other goodies.
