We currently have a choice of rows of 4 to choose from on these new planes but I am not sure which to pick.

I am looking at one row which is 48 this has no one behind which is better for reclining. I have read a report that someone was bothered when the passenger behind him used the touchscreen monitor and was tapping the screen quite heavily so you would not get any disturbance this way. However the seats are practically next to the toilets which could be noisy and smelly.

The other choice is another row of 4 further back I think about 53 but would have people behind with possible disturbance from movement and using touch screen.

Which would you choose? Thanks

I would choose the ones away from the toilet. This is only through experience that people usually queue around the toilets and if you are trying to sleep or watch TV it can be a little noise with people chatting or leaning on your seats.
You can always ask the person behind you to stop doing something if they bother you, but it will be hard to ask everyone who goes to the toilet to be quiet :goodvibes

I've been on a few flights with touchscreen IFE (on Emirates, Delta and United<-I think) and I have to be honest and say that I'm very fussy with people disturbing me etc and I didn't notice anyone on their screens.

Still the tray tables/kids kicking that are the worst part, and you get them in any seat!

We had the back row flying home last time and to be honest we weren't bothered by people using the toilet. The toilets are not as busy flying back as most people try to get some sleep so we didn't notice any queing as people just went straight in - i.e. no chatting or leaning on seats.

I took note on the way out last time ready for our flight home and noticed that they hang on the seat a few rows in not the actual last row ;)

We're flying back on a A330 next year and I've booked row 48 as there's nothing worse than somebody kicking and pulling the back of your seat!

I know seat guru warn about the fact they don't recline back as much but that doesn't bother us and they did recline a little so not a problem.
