Which room to stay at either BW or BC?

 We will be staying at the Boardwalk or Beach Club in February, 2005 (during President's week) based on getting availability at seven months. We will be bringing our 8 and 11 year old daughters as well as a new 6 month old daughter by then (we're due in August!). We will try to get a 2 BR.

I know that there are a lot of DVC experts out there and I was wondering if anyone could recommend what part, view, room or section in either of these resorts would be best. We are OKW owners but figure that it would be easier to stay at these resorts this time due to close proximity to parks, restaurants, etc.

What do you think? Thank you in advance for any advice. You guys are always so helpful!:D :Pinkbounc

Predisent's week is very busy at WDW. I would have a back up reservation at OKW so you know you will have a place to stay. BWV is much larger than BCV so I would expect a better chance to get in there at 7 mo. Also with the ages of your children, I would assume you will be going to MK mostly, so you might look into VWL.
If you have been in an OKW 2 BR, be ready for the smaller rooms. They are more than size acceptable, but after OKW they will feel tight.

Have a great trip.

We will be at BCV for President's week as well with my DD8(turning 9 there) and DD3 !!!

As far as room requests at BCV... It seems a toss-up between those that like the upper floor, epcot view for illuminations and those that like the pool view. Throw in a couple that like the woodland/courtyard view. Although I haven't heard of anyone who wants the Lower floor epcot view!! The negative about that is the service road that runs close to the building and there could be some road noise. I think I'm leaning toward the pool view. I think it would be handy to be able to see if the pool is busy and view family members in the pool.

Hi New York Minnie!

I haven't stayed at the Villas at The Wilderness Lodge but the lodge is beautiful and it might be a good choice for your family.
The Boardwalk is our favorite DW resort though!
I don't think I would want a pool view there, I think it would be too noisy for naptime! We love the Boardwalk view and have never been bothered by the noise in those units.
We've stayed in a standard view facing the entrance/valet area and that was fine too.

Also...you are in the Dis Class Yearbook!! :Pinkbounc :)

Click on the link below and you will find your yearbook picture on page 173.

Have a fantastic DW vacation!

At 7 months, it's not likely that you will be able to get either a standard view or a Boardwalk view for Preesident's week. You're much more likely to get a pool/garden view.

With the little ones, I'd request n/s and close to the elevators or lobby level. That will make things most convenient for traveling with a stroller.

If you really want a quiet room, ask for a room in the Community Hall/quiet pool area. These rooms are quite a distance from the elevator though. The advantge is much less hallway traffic (which is often more annoying than any noise that may come from the outside). As a bonus, some of the rooms in this area have a view of the Tower of Terror and the higher level fireworks from Fantasmic.

Enjoy the trip!

thanks for all the helpful advice. A special thanks to montessori for the disney yearbook info. I checked it out and it was so cute!!! I had never seen the yearbook before...who puts all of that together???Many thanks to the person who designed New York Minnie...she look's great!

We are definitely going to be staying in either the BW or BC (depending on availability). We got some very good suggestions.

Are the upper floors quieter than the lower floors? If I am on an upper floor, should I request to be near an elevator for a stroller?

Thanks in advance for any help!:sunny:
