It's almost Valentine's Day, so I was just thinking. Do you have a romantic song that comes to mind when you think of your significant other?

I always think of Shower the People by James Taylor, because my DH first kissed me while we were listening to that song.

The one for me is "Babe". I think it's by Styx. That's because DH travels alot, and the song was popular when we met, just before his business trip to France.

I have three. :sunny:

Good Enough for Now - 'Weird Al' Yankovic

Oh, I couldn't live a single day without you
Actually, on second thought, well, I suppose I could
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, honey, you're the greatest
Well, at any rate, I guess you're pretty good

Now, it seems to me I'm relatively lucky
I know I probably couldn't ask for too much more
I honestly can say you're an above average lady
You're almost just what I've been looking for

You're sort of everything I ever wanted
You're not perfect, but I love you anyhow
You're the woman that I've always dreamed of
Well, not really, but you're good enough for now

You're pretty close to what I've always hoped for
That's why my love for you is fairly strong
And I swear I'm never gonna leave you, darlin'
At least 'til something better comes along

'Cause you're sort of everything I ever wanted
You're not perfect, but I love you anyhow
You're the woman that I've always dreamed of
Well, not really, but you're good enough for now
No, not really, but you're good enough for now

When You are Old and Grey - Tom Lehrer

Since I still appreciate you,
Let's find love while we may.
Because I know I'll hate you
When you are old and grey.

So say you love me here and now,
I'll make the most of that.
Say you love and trust me,
For I know you'll disgust me
When you're old and getting fat.

An awful debility,
A lessened utility,
A loss of mobility
Is a strong possibility.
In all probability
I'll lose my virility
And you your fertility
And desirability.
And this liability
Of total sterility
Will lead to hostility
And a sense of futility.
So let's act with agility
While we still have facility,
For we'll soon reach senility
And lose the ability.

Your teeth will start to go, dear,
Your waist will start to spread.
In twenty years or so, dear,
I'll wish that you were dead.

I'll never love you then at all
The way I do today.
So please remember,
When I leave in December,
I told you so in May.

I Could Never Promise You - Don Francisco

I could never promise you on just my strength alone,
that all my life I’d care for you and love you as my own.
I’ve never known the future, I only see today.
Words that last a lifetime, would be more than I could say.

But the love inside my heart today is more than mine alone.
It never changes, never fails, never seeks its own.
And by the God who gives it, and who lives in me and you,
I know the words I speak today are words I’m going to do.

So I stand before you now, for all to hear and see.
And promise you in Jesus’ name, the love He’s given me.
And through the years on earth and as eternity goes by,
the life and love He’s given us, are never going to die.

Hooked on a Feeling - by BJ Thomas. :thumbsup2

And we both lost our virginity to Caught up in You - by 38 Special, at different times to different people. Weird, huh? :confused3

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith
or
Through the Years by Kenny Rogers

Your Song by Elton John
Songbird by Eva Cassidy

Our first dance was to Masterpiece by Atlantic Starr
A simple touch of your hand,
And everything is right.
The gentle way you look at me,
When we kiss goodnight.
You've given me the freedom no other love has known
And now I thank you girl , thank you girl

The countless ways you've touched my heart
Is more than I can say
The beauty that you've shown to me
takes my breath away
A picture perfect painting, that's what our love is
And yes I need you so, and now I know

[Chorus:]
ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
a work of art it's true
And I treasure you my love
ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
a work of art it's true
And I treasure you

Sometimes I wonder what I'd be
Had I not found you
A least and lonely soul this world
could show me nothing new

But now my life's a canvas
painted with your love
And it will always be
And now I see

The two of us together
Through time will never pass
This fairy tale we shared
is real inside our hearts
let it be forever
never let it end
this promise I do make
Heaven is ours to take

[Repeat chorus]

When I'm lost and insecure
you build me up and make me sure
that everything will turn out right
My love

[Repeat chorus]

(This fairy tale we're sharing
is real inside our hearts
Let it be forever
never let it end)

I also like I Love You by the Climax Blues Band

Fly Me To the Moon - Frank Sinatra......it was our first dance at our wedding :)

Wow, interesting choice... I haven't heard that song for 950 years!!

However, I can't think of a song myself :confused3

Nice song! Here are my choices:

In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
I'll Stop the World and Melt With You - Modern English
The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra
The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of - Carly Simon...

It’s the stuff that dreams are made of
It’s the slow and steady fire
It’s the stuff that dreams are made of
It’s your heart and soul’s desire
It’s the stuff that dreams are made of

What if the prince on the horse in your fairytale
Is right here in disguise
And what if the stars you’ve been reaching so high for
Are shining in his eyes

The song that makes me think of my sweetie is last years American Idol song "Inside your Heaven". Its kinda "our" song. It came out right when we met. Only thing is that he likes the Carrie version, I prefer the Bo version. But the song is still special.

A few other songs that I think are romantic are:
I'll Be - Edwin McCain, I Love the Way you Love Me - John Michael Montgomery, Your Song - Elton John, Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton, Make you Feel my Love - ?, I Need You - Marc Anthony, and I Will - ?, Home- Michael Buble

I knew I was gettin' up there, but 950 years? :scratchin ;) LOL! :p

We had our maid of honor and one of my brothers sing it as a duet at our wedding. We both enjoy Don Francisco, and the lyrics were/are meaningful to us. :)

Keeper of the Stars by Tracey Byrd was our first dance at our wedding.

But Shameless by Billy Joel or Garth Brooks and In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel always make me weak in te knees ;)

Always and Forever by Heat Wave.

also,

Radar Love - that's our favorite for long road trips, especially when we are driving to WDW.

Our Songs are "Made Again" by Marillion and "Keeper of the Stars" by Tracey Byrd.

That said, my honey made me a mix tape when we first started dating, so anytime I hear any of those songs, they make me think of him. I made him a tape as well, and there was a bit of duplication  . I probably should track down my playlist of songs for him and burn them to CD for Valentines day.

His tape came with a playlist and why he chose the songs. Some of the songs are below:
In Your Eyes Peter Gabriel
Wishing You Were Here Chicago
All I Wanted Kansas
Friends Elton John
New Horizons Moody Blues
Your Own Special Way Genesis
Until the Night Billy Joel
My Love Paul McCartney

I know where the list is, but I just looked at the boombox wired to his PC and saw the tape in there. Yep, we both love that tape!

Suzanne

As a joke, our playful songs for each other are Hot Chocolate's "I Believe in Miracles" and the Turtles "So happy together" (I'm 26 and listen to a LOT of 'oldies' :teeth: ) Our 'real' song is what was our first dance song at our wedding -- All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera. I'll sing most any love song to him though. :goodvibes

Percy Sledge and/or Michael Bolton - When a Man Loves a Woman
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
Dr. Hook - A Little Bit More
Gretchen Wilson - When I Think About Cheatin'
Lonestar - Amazed
Garth Brooks - She's Every Woman
Celine Dion or Laura Branigan (my personal favorite) - The Power of Love
Enrique Iglesias - Hero
Bryan Adams - Everything I do, I do it for you
Eagles - Love Will Keep us Alive
