Which rides have the best queues?

The only one that is good enough that we won't use a FP+ for is Dumbo. It's not a line. You wait in a playground area and they give you a beeper that goes off when it's your turn. DS loved it in there, more than the ride actually.

None of the other ones are reasons enough to skip the FP+ IMO. Lines like Winnie the Pooh and Haunted Mansion do have interactive parts to them that make waiting easier, but I wouldn't do stand by just to see the lines. No big deal if they're missed, I would still use a FP+ for them if I had nothing better to use them on.

This is a great question and I'd be interested in hearing the answers, too. I was going to pick Winnie the Pooh with FP+ because the kids really want to ride that one, but then someone told me you'll miss all of the interactive things in the queue if you choose FP+.

Anyone know if this is true with Dumbo, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, etc?

I love the entire line for tower of terror. I also enjoy the space mountain line because it's entirely air conditioned. I don't mind standing in the Toy Story Midway Mania line either, however, with young kids a stand by wait is tough.

Good to know with Dumbo. I chose that with FP+ as the kids don't want to miss it. Thanks!

And are any of them worth waiting in standby? Trying to pick FP+, and just thought of this factor. Thanks! :)

For me, I think Expedition Everest is the best queue, and I don't mind waiting in it.

And I have spent a LOT of time in the TSMM queue - for some reason I really enjoy it. Maybe because it is inside and I am always there in the middle of the blazing hot summer. I would still recommend a FP though if you can get one.

Kali River Rapids queue is also really well done (but I only ride this ride during the last hour the park is open and It is almost always a walk on. I have never used a FP for Kali).

Its tough to be a bug is a nice line too, because of the tree of life.

I haven't seen the Little Mermaid queue - I only used FP last trip - but it is supposed to be well done.

On a side note: The five worst queues for me:

1. PETER PAN
2. Maelstrom
3. Space Mountain
4. RnRC - too hot
5. the New Haunted Mansion Queue - Too chaotic.

I have never waited in the Soarin line and never will. That is the most intimidating thing I have ever seen.

I love the queues for Tower of Terror, and Space Mountain.

Seriously though, the theming for the Tower of Terror line is an attraction all it's own for me! :thumbsup2

The line for TSMM is pretty good too.

I agree with above poster about Expedition Everest. Disney theming at it's best. :thumbsup2 I always feel like I'm in Raiders of The lost Ark when I walk though it!

I'm not sure any of the ques are worth the wait really, but I do enjoy the Tower of Terror que, the Expedition Everest que, the Kali que, and the Toy Story Mania que. They are worth doing standby at least once if you haven't to see them.

:)Yeah EE is my favorite queue also. So much to see, it really gets you in the right frame of mind for the ride. I also like TOT and SM for the same reasons.

However, if you have someone who is nervous about TOT, I would definitely FP that one. The build up to the ride makes me more nervous than the ride!

I have never seen the Expedition Everest line; I always go single rider, but you all are making me want to go through just once.

I was going to say Pooh, as I enjoy watching the kids enjoy the games in that line.

I agree,, love the theming in most queues, but as much as I like soaring, I will not wait in that line. No theming at all, what is with that. Its like a maintenance corridor. :confused3

I like the ToT queue at night, but I find it too hot during the day in the summer. Walking up to the hotel is the best, and the inside portion is really cool.

Tower of Terror is an A+ attraction from beginning to end. The CMs play a big role too. I like to ride it multiple times during Fantasmic. Night time adds to the mystery.

I also kind of like the queue for Dinosaur, although I can't put my finger on why....it feels like I'm at the Field Museum here at home.

I just love Animal Kingdom! It's my favorite park for theming. Like I said earlier it feels like Raiders of The Lost Ark and the Tomb Raider video games combined! :rotfl:

I really like all the interactive queues. My favorite was the HM cemetery.

The worst was Winnie the Pooh. The first section was really loud which in on itself isn't that bad. But then it bottlenecks into a single line but has these slider things that you can play with. Unfortunately to fully play with them the kids have to squeeze by everyone waiting in line. When I was in line there was a family of 2-3 kids that were letting them move back and forth through the line past people to play with them and another family that had one child where the parent just wanted their child to play with the section that was in front of them. Chaos ensued. And it's 2 sided so kids are reaching over to play with the other sides sliders. The next interactive element is rather cool so I think it was just that one slider element in a narrow space that made the line really annoying and something I will try to skip if possible.

OP here, thank you all for your input! This is my family's first visit. I love planning, but picking FP+ is stressful!

It is stressful.

A few more ideas. Ride lines drop during parades and evening shows. So if you choose to skip those events you can ride more rides. I wouldn't want to waste a FP then. But I also don't want to stress you out any further. :)

You can't do everything on your first trip...so do what you can and enjoy it. You will have plenty to see and do that doesn't require a fastpass. It's all new to you!

If rides are important it is definitely going to take more planning, but you are on the right track.
