I am a single mom with 2 kids going to Disney for the first time ever. I am trying to plan as much as possible and learning so much from these boards. What I need to know is which rides in the park accomodate 3? Hoping there are some. The kids are 5 and 7 and can't be left alone at all!

Thanks
Lori

We are a family of 5 and rode everything with 2 & 3.

The only rides that only accomodate 2 are ones your kids may be too young/short for-- Everest and RocknRollercoaster.

Oh, Barnstormer will probably only fit 2, but the 7yo could ride in the seat in front of you. Dumbo may be a tight squeeze. (My kids prefered the Carpets-- same ride idea, but more room to fit 3). Buzz only has two guns, but 3 can ride-- you can sit in the middle and let the kids shoot.

My kids are 5 years a part. There was one trip when I had the kids in the park for a few hours on my own. When my older son wanted to ride Space Mountain, my younger son and I walked him through the line and then went out the "chicken out" exit one we saw him get on the ride. Then we met him where he got off.

We are a family of three and I think we can ride most things all in the same car, especially the rides built for younger kids ie Dumbo, Peter Pan, even Splash Mtn, which has a 40" minimum. I do believe age 7 is the minimum for a child to ride alone, so by Disney standards, your 7yr old could ride in a car alone if needed. I don't think it will be an issue on most rides though.

There are sites out there that list the height requirements for all of the rides on property, but I would suggest you all sitting down and looking at all of the attractions and make a plan as a family. See what everyone wants to do and make sure to include that in your planning. Especially if one REALLY wants to do something and the other doesn't, but later that one finds something... offer a compromise.

I was out in MK with my DS2.5 alone for pretty much 1 whole day! We did as much as we could! He did jungle cruise, barnstormer, haunted mansion, pirates, dumbo, winnie-the-pooh, etc. Granted with yours being older, you're looking at big thunder, splash mountain, soarin', kali river rapids, etc...

Ask their opinion and let them know what's out there before getting too crazy with the 'what-ifs'. Who knows, the family time may end up being a blast!

I too take my kids alone and at 5 and 7, I would ride with the 5 year old and the 7 year old would ride in the car in front of me so I could touch her hand/shoulder. Occasionally on milder rides, they rode together with me in back of them. Many rides do hold three though... here are some...

Peter Pan
Snow White
Pooh
Dumbo, we just did 2 and one.. we were all in the same car, so it was fine.
test track
soarin
malestrom(spelling???)
small world
buzz
toy story mania(only two can play on these, but three can sit)
alladin(similar to dumbo)
pirates

so many rides do work. I might suggest you spend the extra and rent a double stroller. It really is an easy way to keep them together and fresh. The strollers are very easy to push. Makes me taking them alone very easy.
