Which rides are NO-NOs for motion sickness?

husband gets motions sickness ..knows enough not to do the teacups , MS did him in although he didn't take bonine beforehand and should have. he has gotten sick on star tours but didn't this timenor on primeval whirl and our car didn't stop spinning the whole time( or maybe cause he was so sick after ms everything else paled in significance :))

Everyone has a different trigger for Motion sickness. Mine is simulators and big screens ans feeling of height. I cannot ride Star Tours or Body wars and the Canada 360 thingy.

Mission Space is not a problem for me - go figure although I can see how it can make you ill. Coasters are also not a problem...one of my favorites is the Hulk at universal.

Teacups in the Magic Kingdom (if they are still there). My father literally loses his lunch on this ride...

Has anyone tried travel sickness pills for motion sickness. Just wondering for our forthcoming trip. I dont suffer but my youngest is awful with travel sickness. As ive got older i notice that i do suffer a bit more with the rolling motion of certain rides and wouldnt want to spoil if for my kids so was considering taking these to see me through. Any thoughts?

I have never suffered with motion sickness until i went on Back to the Future at universal. Myself and my husband were both Green after this ride and i would never do it again!
Claire.

For me, Space Mt gave me that stomach dropping sensation.

I love TOT - it is a totally different sensation - you drop very fast and I was actually an inch or two off my seat for part of it.

Star tours, Mission Space, and teacups.

I have never done Body Wars, but I bet that would make me quizzy!

Coasters are no problem... Mainly just the spinning!

Well Kari's pretty bad too. Some of the ones she won't go on are
Primeval Whirl
Rock N Coaster
Tower of Terror
Splash Mountain
Space Mountain
Teacups
Mission Space

These are a bit woozing but not too bad, enough to deserve a sit down break.
Astro Orbitor
Thunder Mountain
Carousel
Goofy's Barnstormer
Body Wars and Star Tours
Test Track

It just depends on what you can't handle, Kari can't handle the fast spinning like the teacups or a big drop like space mountain, but the speed factor is too bad, as to why test track isn't a problem. And it all depends on if you've eaten or not.

Only one ride that I refuse to ride ever again because of how awful my stomach felt and that was Mission Space-I was sick to my stomach and felt woozy and out of it. Had a headache for the rest of the day! Never again!

  Mission Space is the only ride in my life that has made me nauseous. I had the sick bag in my hands but I was able to get through the ride without an episode. I was done for the rest of the day. My boys (14 and 17) and DH love the ride but I would stay away from it if I were you.

Mission Space made me very dizzy and queezy, but Tower Of Terror is the only ride I have ever been sick on. :earseek: It got me during the drops...I was so embarrased. The cast members were very kind and helped me my DH and Step Dad to clean up. I always got a little woozy on "drop" type rides too, and let my DH talk me into riding it. We all regretted that one. :guilty:

Thanks for the info. I had read the unoffical guide guide about the rides info on motions sickness since I get it so easy. But to the poster who wrote about Hersheypark (we have season passes all the time) THANK -YOU!!! I had no clue about the rollercoater you mentioned being so bad for motion sickness. Not that I ride many of them but it really put it terms I know.

widget- I took Dramamine before going on Mission Space. It didn't help at all.

I took the motion sickness patch from my doctor because I am very prone to motion sickness. We did saorin and testtrack that day and I was fine until we did testtrack twice in a row because it wa slow. I won't do that again even with the patch.

OMG- that was the worst!!!
I also can't handle the star tours/body wars, mission space I was ok until they 'land' and then I felt pretty bad. I would not even try the teacups.
