Which restaurants would you call a "hidden gem"?

Maya Grill at Coronado Springs is a great little spot for a romantic dinner. There is usually a wonderful guitar player there, very nice atmosphere.
I second this! Secluded-feeling booths, neat decor, good food, margarita flights.

We also like Marrakesh, Spice Road, and Sanaa, and you can definitely get an ADR for them still. We booked same day for Spice Road last year, and really - that wasn't even necessary b/c you could just walk in when it's early-ish.

I'm not sure I can think of a CS that would qualify as a "hidden gem" b/c they always seem pretty crowded no matter where we end up! Tangierine Cafe at Epcot is one we like that doesn't seem to get too crowded.

If you want a character meal replacement for BOG, try 1900 Park Fare's Cinderella and friends dinner, at the Grand Floridian. Bonus for kids is taking the boat one way and monorail the other if you come from MK. We got an ADR there like 3 months out for 10, definitely not as popular as CRT or BOG.

We had an amazing dinner at Captains Grille back in April. It wasn't my first choice for an ADR but it was a Saturday night race weekend and it was all that was left. The food was great, service was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Artist Point for sure. Its a must do for us, and always is available. Cedar plank salmon and the berry cobbler.. oh my.
Also, BlueZoo in the Dolphin is a must :)

I second many already mentioned especially Captain's Grille, and would like to add Shutters at Caribbean Beach to the list. I don't know which resort you are staying at, but the TS restaurant at your resort is probably a good option such as Kona cafe and others already mentioned. We also really liked Skipper Canteen at MK which is currently only taking day-of reservations, but does accept the dining plan. For QS in MK consider Columbia Harbour House's upstairs seating for a quieter meal. We like to sit by a window for a view of the park.

The Grand Floridian Cafe. I'm not sure why they even use the word "cafe". It definitely isn't one. Great food and great service.

My family likes Sanaa, Grand Floridian Cafe, Spice Road Table and Yachtsman steakhouse. We have eaten at many of the table service restaurants at the resorts and almost always have gotten good food and service. Look at some of the menus posted online so you can get an idea of what your family might like.

I really enjoyed Grand Floridian cafe when we were there in January. Usually easy to get reservations too.

Captain's Grille at YC. I never heard anything about this place and only booked it because of a last minute change of plans and it was close to our resort. Ended up being one of the best meals we've had at Disney.

NO WAY is Boma a Hidden Gem. It is one of the most popular buffets on property.
Turf Club at SSR is a great dinner TS Hidden Gem.
I've never had a problem getting reservations for Boma. I just check the ADR's. What do you know. I could get Boma at 6:20 PM next Saurday and thats the first day I checked. Can't be too popular... Furhermore, that is Memorial Day Weekend and it has more reservations available than any other buffet on the property including Hollywood and Vine.

Another vote for The Wave! I enjoyed breakfast so much this year, I booked a dinner as well. Great food, great service, quiet, relaxing atmosphere, and easy to get to. I really want to try lunch there next trip.

I love the Trails End in Fort Wilderness. It's a great price and it's good food. Breakfast is especially a bargain. You get the exact same breakfast food you'd get at any other buffet for half the price.

I've heard great things about all of the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge although I haven't made it to them myself. I also agree with those who mentioned Yak and Yeti (it is in AK). I hardly ever see it recommended, yet I always have a great meal and look forward to it on our trips.

I think Sanaa is a hidden gem. The food is terrific (bread service = yum!) and it is pretty easy to get an ADR the day before. Lunch or early dinner is great - you can eat with wonderful views of the animals on the Savannah.

Trails End, Trattoria Al Forno, Kona Cafe at the Poly, Boma, Sanaa, The plaza at MK (although not a great value to spend a TS credit on its great for oop). DH and I enjoy going to the lounges to eat as well, but this won't work with the dining plan.

Not sure if any of these are hidden gems, but have you looked into:
Chefs de France (epcot)
Jiko (AK)
Kona Cafe (Poly)

We did book Chefs de France and Kona Café! We're trying both of these for the first time.

A lot of good suggestions on this thread. We do like BOG and Ohana's so I always kind of feel obligated to go there if ressie's are available. I'm actually a little excited to have a reason to try some new places on this trip.
