Which restaurant were you the most disappointed with?

Unfortunately we've had 3. Fulton's, Alfredo's and Yachtsman. Fortunately not all on the same visit.

Tried this for the first time 3-04. I'm a fish fanatic, so I was really looking forward to the fish and chips. The fish was very over breaded and greasy. Also my DH had that cheese plate mentioned in an earlier post. That was not good. The service was ok, but I don't know if I would return anytime soon.

We are planning to try Fulton's for the first time in November. I saw three disappointments listed in this thread. That kind of scares me.

San Angel Inn and the Polynesian's Luau. Both very disappointing food and horrible service at San Angel.

Yachtman's Steakhouse, Cap'n Jacks, and Akershus. The food wasn't outstanding at any of them, we were disappointed to waste money on these places when there so many better places to eat at WDW.

Boma-wasn't impressed with the food (too bland) although the facility is very nice.

Jiko - a horrid experience for my teenage daughter with our waiter. We were beyond shocked that a place that received such highly publicized reviews would fall so short on service during our meal.

I have three -

In 1996 it was Sci-Fi - food was greasy and seemed as if it had been sitting out for too long.

In 2000 at Chef Mickey's (breakfast)- service was poor and the food was mediocre at best.

In 2003 it was Liberty Tree Tavern - food tasted like a TV dinner and was overpriced IMO.

That said we're trying Chef Mickey's again this year but for dinner this time and I made a PS for LTT at MNSSHP but only as a back up in case I can't get Crystal Palace 90 days out.

We will never go to Akershus again since it went to a menu+buffet. The staff was GREAT, but we spent over $50 at lunch for myself and 12yrDS and had the same feeling as thevolcanogod's DH. I really liked being able to sample the dishes of Norway. A full plate of one entre was just too much of one thing and they seemed to have taken away some of the salad items that I really liked. And paying for the entre just to eat off the the buffet is waaaay to expensive! ;)

Definatly Tony's at MK. The atmosphere was nice, but the food tasted like Chef Boyardee and way too overpriced. I also wasn't overly impressed with either Planet Hollywood or Coral Reef.

Chef Mickey's. Fun atmosphere, but the food was GROSS! Cold, unappetizing, bland, picked over . . . I could go on and on. We tend to do lots of sitdown meals, and, after 12 or so trips, we've eaten almost everywhere. Chef Mickey's is the only place we won't go back to. YUCK!

Fish and CHips at the counter service next to Rose and Crown. My wife liked it but I thought it was greasy and bland.

Cape May.................OVERRATED..............

Good Atmosphere, OK service, Average Food................

I've never been a fan of the food at Biergarten. The last time I ate there was in 1996, so unless it had improved since then, I'll pass.

I also agree that taking off the hot buffet at Akershus was a bad thing. I love it there, but I don't want a HUGE plate of the hot food I want to try. I hate wasting food.

The restaurant that most underwhelmed me for food and service was Big River Brewery on the Boardwalk. The food was mediocre and the service was bad, from the person who did the seating to the server. Lackluster.

Biggest disappointment in recent years: Flying Fish Cafe.
I had a wonderful meal there years ago, and I returned there again in 2002. They had taken one of their signature dishes off the menu (the red snapper....but I had heard they put it back!), and we all agreed that the quality of the fish we had didn't match the price.

Best meal I've had recently: I had a terrific experience in Jiko in May. I dined solo, so I ate at "The Cooking Place". The chefs, the server, the food.....all made a great experience for me.

Hmmm, interesting thread to read. I have seen a couple of our best experiences listed here as "worst".

Our all time worst had to be.....

Chef Mickey:mad: bad seat, bland food, so-so character interaction, rude staff.... never again!

Tony's Town Square: :crazy2: nasty food!

Not a worst but wouldn't do again....

'Ohana

I can't say I was disappointed really, we just didn't care for the offerings on the Crystal Palace dinner buffet.

Just got back on July 1, and two restaurants that so impressed me last year were duds this year. Teppanyaki was so wonderful last summer. The steak and lobster were cooked with style to perfection, delicate slices, flavorful and tender. This year we got a young lady in training, so the show was awkward, but the food....harrumph! Big rubbery hunks of lobster and chunks of steak so tough I didn't eat them. That restaurant is way too expensive to turn out meals like that. My other disappointment was Chefs du France. Last year I had the best salad and macaroni and cheese I had ever had. It turned out to be my favorite meal of the trip. I couldn't wait to get back there this year. How could a restaurant go so downhill in one year? Again, the same meal at the same restaurant. It went uneaten. I was so disappointed. However, we had some great meals and we will get a restaurant review together real soon.

Oh no, we just ate at Chefs and Teppanyaki in Feb. and they were among our favorites!

Sounds like there is a lot of variation in quality!

Oh lord, I have two really nasty restaurants!

San Angel Inn - the atmosphere was beautiful but the food was not much better than Taco Bell and the service - well we won't even mention it!

Biergarten - wonderful service but horrible food and I also HATE sitting with strangers.

definitely Boma for breakfast. horrific waiter, food ok but not any better than any other wdw breakfast i've had and biggg disappointment for me was it what i could get anywhere. defintely "over hyped" which proably made me dislike it...the setting was nothing fantastic either imo

close second was Ohana's for the same reasons except the waiter wasn't as bad and at least the food was different if over priced but the wait was much longer, and our table was in the leprosy section;) so maybe not really able to fairly access the atmosphere which makes it #2

Fulton's, Alfredo's and Coral Reef.
OK, granted, I'm a gourmet chef. But I go in with a realistic expectation, it's an attainable expectation. I am not expecting perfection.
Decent food and service for the high price I am paying.
Not getting what you pay for is what ticks me off the most.
All 3 are tied for being the most disappointing.
