Which restaurant do you think I should celebrate my sons 6th birthday at with a cake? Ohana's or Coral Reef?

Do you have any other choices? I would not go to either of them, the food is terrible at both. If forced I'd choose 'Ohana, since the worst meal I ever ate on property was at Coral Reef. And 'Ohana is noisy and has games and things going on he might like.

Wow, people really do have different experiences at different times because Coral Reef and Ohana were and are 2 of our favorites. If your son is into sea life I'd say Coral Reef. You can have a diver swim up with a Happy Birthday sign personalized with your son's name for free. I had that done for my boys in January and they loved it.

Tough choice. I really Loved both....but I'd go with Ohana's over Coral Reef.

Coral Reef was by far the worst restaurant I've ever eaten anywhere. My kids are older now but still love Ohana because of the fond memories etc.
I'd go with Ohana.

you can also have the Coral Reef print up a special menu for your son's birthday with pictures that you email to them:thumbsup2

Id go with Ohana. Its a bit more fun than Coral Reef. There are games, its noisy, and has a great view. I think a 6 year old would like that more.

another vote for Ohana- i do like both, not a picky eater, but just like the Poly alot

I've been to Coral Reef several times. It had neither good food nor a good atomosphere for younger kids. That being said, it delivers a cool experience. I don't think this experience will satisfy a six-year-old for long, and the rest of your meal, you'll be stressed out.

A character meal at Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's will blow the mind of any kid. Both of these will deliver food (while buffet, a style I don't care for) that will usually be as good as the choices you made, and an atomosphere more in line with what a child of 6 is looking for.

That being said, brace yourself. There will be many other young children there. But then again, you can let your son be himself on his birthday without concern.

We celebrated my DD's 10 bday at Ohana in March....she loved it and was selected to lead the little parade and hold the limbo stick, she loved it!!!

Coral Reef gets negative reviews, but I am still trying it in a few weeks! I will not judge something until I have tried it first...everyone has different experiences...thus different opinions!
Hope you have a great time!!

Wow! Lots of different opinions. We will be there in three weeks and going to both. Last year we did Chef Mickey's which was fun so I am trying to do it some place different this time. I think I may go with the diver sign and Coral Reef. The cake I am still unsure of.:confused3

Did Ohana for breakfast last year and Coral Reef for dinner and at Coral Reef the server literally ignored us (DDP??). The server wasn't too great at Ohana but the food was good -- the food was pretty terrible at Coral Reef. I won't let that happen again! But...we are doing Coral Reef again for the atmosphere and giving it another shot. We would probably try Ohana for dinner but our friends are pretty picky eaters. I would probably do Coral Reef IF you could get a diver and special menu. Otherwise, maybe Chef Mickey's.

'Ohana! We did not like the food at CR at all! 'Ohana is also fun for kids, plus I think the food is much better.
