In my travels I have found that most decent hotels have gotten rid of bedspreads in favor of duvets that get washed (hopefully) at every room turnover. in looking at photos of almost every Disney property, including the NEW Art of Animation, I see bedspreads. Have any properties been "updated" with nice, clean duvets? How often do those icky bedspreads get washed? Why is Disney so behind in updating soft goods or do people actually like bedspreads????

I think all of the Deluxe hotels now have either duvets or triple sheeting (the Poly is still in progress). I don't know about the villas. Some of the mods have duvets or triple sheeting, some still have bedspreads. I think all the values have bedspreads.

I can't speak for any of the villas, but as far as the deluxe resorts, I think all of those have duvets except AKL and GF (which still have bedspreads). As the pp said, the Poly is being redone now.

I stayed at BLT last month. I doubt that they wash the white comforter every time, it's pretty heavy.

Anyone know the bedspread situation at the DVC resorts?

They announced at the last annual meeting that they would be converting all the DVC villas from bedspreads to duvets/triple sheeting over the course of the next year. There haven't been reports of anyone seeing it actually happen in the different resorts yet though. So for now (with the exception of BLT) it's still bedspreads.

Not an easy thing to do even though the industry now recognizes that bedspreads aren't acceptable for cleanliness.

Converting adds at least 50% to the wash load - adding time and cost to the sheet turnaround... and replacement cost as sheets will wear out and need replacing much sooner than the 5 year bedspread.

At DVC all these costs must be covered by the annual fees which cannot go up more than a few percent per year. And the cost of everything else rises alongside!

Not to mention customer demand for better wireless, flat screen TVs, DVD players...

I saw that a section of All Star Sports rooms have been converted to duvets from bedspreads. It looked so much better!

At the Moderate level, Coronado Springs is the only one with duvet covers. I think CSR was great and that was one reason I liked it!

last week Boardwalk villas still had bedspreads... (ours had seen better days.)

The change out for the DVC villas is not supposed to happen until 2014. The one at BLT does not have ties in the corners of the cover, so the comforter is not secure in the duvet. So when you make your bed, the opening in the duvet gaps big and the comforter gets all lumpy. I hate these like the devil.

DVC will be using the triple sheeting method and not duvets.

Any word yet as to when the GF will convert to duvets? Those rooms are very much in need of some TLC.

I was kind of surprised that POR royal rooms and alligator bayou was remodeled but they kept the bedspreads. New ones but they decided to stick with them.

I prefer the triple sheet/devuet over the bedspread. It's funny but when I look at resort room pictures I lean toward the room with the triple sheets.

As for the mods CRS has triple sheets. I know POR still has bedspreads and i think CBR does too.

Deluxe - BC/YC , BWI, WL, CR, all have triple sheet , they started the POLY too

Only ones left AKL, & GF
I wonder what there reasoning is too keep some and not others.
