We are planning our trip to the Magic Kingdom for April 27th 2006. I would like to stay in the Moderate Priced Resorts, but which one? There are so many to chose from.

We are traveling with our 2 year old.
We are staying 4 or 5 nights.
We would like to stay close to the Magic Kingdom

Any suggestions? Thank you! ::MickeyMo

On our first trip to WDW, my daughter was 2 and we stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We loved it.

We also liked CBR!! We had a good time there. We also stayed at POR and liked it!

I also vote for CBR. It was our families first resort, and it got us hooked. My sister and her family are taking their first trip to Disney in Oct., and they booked the CBR after hearing all the great things about it. Good luck on making a choice. :earsgirl:

I looked at a map of CBR & it looks like a very large resort. Where on earth should I stay (Trinidad, Aruba, etc...) I would like something close to food, swimming, playground....

This was one of my top choices, so Im glad that everyone has recommended it! :sunny:

Thanks again, this is a great forum!

It is very large and spread out. We wanted to stay in Aruba but it was all booked so we got Trinidad North (which is now a preferred building). Aruba and Jamacia are across the lake, you have to walk across the island and bridge and it brings you out right by th emain pool and food court. We enjoyed the walk to the food court everynight to fill our mugs and sat on the beach and watch the fireworks from Epcot!!!!!
Barbados and Trinidad South are the farthest sections but there is an internal bus that take you around the resort only!

Have you looked at the POFQ? No matter where you stay, you're near everything. And then there's the bonus of the boat to DTD.

Sorry, it's Down Town Disney, where the stores, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island, and all that are.

I would say that POFQ would probably be best with a 2-year old. The pool is a big consideration here. The sea serpent theme of the pool at POFQ is very fun and apealing to small children.

We stayed at POR last week and really enjoyed it too. My kids did prefer the pool at POFQ though, and we swam there just as much as at the Ol' Man Island pool at Riverside. I'm sure the pool at Riverside would be better for older kids (the slide is longer, has more turns, and is more fun) but with a two year old, I would recommend the French Quarter. My DD(1.5) even did the slide at the French Quarter with me waiting at the bottom, and she loved it. The slide at Riverside would have been too much for her. POFQ is a much smaller resort anyway so you would not end up with a long walk to anywhere. We avoided long walks at POR by being very careful with our room requests.

We stayed at CBR in 2003 and it was very pretty too. I would put it in third place behind both of the Port Orleans resorts for a kid that young. It is very spread out, and their feature pool is not as compelling.
