We are staying at the Poly for 10 nights next Oct (mummy, nanny & 12 yr old)...we are now extending by 3 nights, we thought about extending some where else, like maybe AOA just to be different!..but we would however have no park tickets or meal vouchers for those 3 days so where would you suggest ??

I like pairing Poly with something like BC or YC. Change of scene, MK vs EP. Stormalong Bay can keep you busy and entertained for awhile. Although you're going to want to get in Epcot since it's so close! I tacked a night on our Poly trip this past summer at BC and really enjoyed it!

Port Orleans Riverside is a beautiful resort with gorgeous grounds, horse drawn carriage rides, lovely pools, and a boat to Disney Springs for shopping, dining, Cirque Du Soliel, Splitsville, and the AMC theatre. You would have so much to do you wouldn't even miss the parks.

I like the suggestion for an Epcot area resort. We almost always split our stays between a MK and an Epcot resort. AS GADisneyDad14 said, Storm Along Bay can keep you entertained. Plus you have the Boardwalk just next door.

Another thought is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We love this resort and you have two pools, great dining and animals to watch. It isn't right next to a park so not having tickets won't be as painful.

Of course, the POR suggested is a nice moderate with access by boat to DS for entertainment. Plus you have Yee Haa Bob!

Have fun choosing!

I would do an EP resort (BC, YC, BWI), AKL, POR/POFQ (if you want to save some money), or even consider a Ft. W cabin! There is a lot to do at each of those resorts. Have you considered adding park days to your tickets or even adding the water park option so you have something to do other than hang out at the resort? Another option is head over to Universal and explore the parks over there! The Universal resorts are really nice.

Agree with people saying EP area resort, gives you a whole change of scenery for your last fee days. we've spent time resort hopping just to check them out, have eaten lunch or dinner at many different resorts. It also helped us decide where to stay on future visits.

I agree with all about an EPCOT resort. There is a great night life on the Boardwalk - we love it. By the way you don't have to use all the park tickets while staying at the Poly. If you extend 3 days at a different resort then I would take a day or 2 off while staying at the Poly. It is a great hotel and then you can use some of the park tickets while staying at the other resort.
Enjoy - we LOVE the Poly.

Another vote for POR . We have only stayed at the sister resort POFQ but POR is our backup (unless we ever decided to go Deluxe in which case it would be YC or BC.)
Since they are sister resorts you can use POFQ's pool plus it give you a 2nd foodcourt you can walk to. We have walked up to POR to use their pool for a change of scenery plus eating at their TS or foodcourt. The boat to DS is great and since last year from 4:30 on the boats from POR no longer stops at POFQ on the way to DS.

I second the idea of staying in an Epcot resort! We stayed in MK resorts for years and finally gave EP a go, and we will never go back!

I agree. AKL is a beautiful resort with a lot to keep you occupied for a few days without going to the parks. Since the resort is sort of isolated from everything else, it has a quiet/relaxing atmosphere and is like a vacation within a vacation.

This is not about your resort, but about the park tickets. Even though 10 days is the max for your tix (except for an Annual Pass, the cost of which might not fit your budget), you don't have to use the 10 days consecutively. So if you're there for 13 days, you can use the 10 days on any 10 days, because as long as you use the days within 14 days of first use, you're fine.

So you don't have to think of the trip as 10 days in the parks followed by 3 days without the parks. You could have non-park days in between.

This response perfectly says what I was going to say!!!

Hi im from the UK and these tickets i think are tied to that package, although some have said if i go to guest service i maybe able to get them three days earlier(im unsure if this is true)...it would be great if i can. ...

I think that AKL will be the perfect place for you to come off your jet lag. It's so beautiful there and there are lots of activities to keep you busy plus watching the animals! BC/YC is also an awesome place to spend a couple of day as long as you will be there during swimming weather.

You can get your tickets early from your package once you arrive but won't be able to book FPs for the days prior to your Poly stay.

There is SO much to do in Orlando that you won't have any trouble filling your time.

If I were you I might rent a car and head to the beach. It's will be mostly highway driving so you will barely realize that you are traveling on the wrong (right) side of the road.
