My family is planning another trip to WDW and every time we've went we stayed off the resort site so this time we are going to try to stay at a disney resort but can't figure out which to choose from! It's a family of 4 with two 14 year old girls. If you have pictures from your favorite resort please post them! And tell me why you liked it so much Thanks for all the help!! Oh and by the way we are planning on going next summer so trying to figure out price ranges too!

I don't have the pics to download...

But our favorite resort is Yacht Club/ Beach Club. (prefer yacht club because they have more full size balconies than Beach Club). This is due to location, can't beat being walking distance to Hollywood Studios & Epcot. And they have a HUGE pool which has a sand bottom.

Since your children are 14yrs. I am assuming (I know its not good to assume) that you might be spending more time at those parks. If your children were maybe 4 & 6 yrs than I might recommend staying at a property near Magic Kingdom such as Polynesian, contemp, or wildnerness Lodge.

However, depending on how much time you think you will be spending at the parks or if you are going for a short stay you may want to consider something less expensive since you might not be in the room as much.

I think the pricing structure is about this with starting with the least expensive hotel:

Value resorts - all the same price includes (3) all star properties & pop century.

Moderate resorts - all the same price includes: Caribbean Beach(my favorite moderate), Port Orleans (riverside & french quarter) and Coronado Springs

Deluxe(least expensive to most expensive)
- Animal Kingdom,
-Wilderness Lodge
-Contemporary
-Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk
-Polynesian
-Grand Floridian

If anyone sees that I am incorrect with this info..please let me know!

Our favourite resort is the Polynesian for the fabulous theming, the great on site dining and, of course, the monorail.

If you are looking for something more affordable try Coronado Springs. Before becoming loyal Polynesian fans, we stayed at Coronado Springs 3 times and really enjoyed it. Just make sure you stay far away from the main building so you don't bump into the convention goers. Who wants to see people in suits when they are on vacation? ;)

I suggest you show pictures of the various resorts in your acceptable price range to your daughters. I am planning an All-Girls Trip with my mom and my 2 sisters. I showed my 14 yr old sister pictures and she decided we should stay in either the Swan or Dolphin.
We have never stayed on-property either and I thought going a trip with only half the family would make it more feasible.

Personally, I am in love with the pictures of the Polynesian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge

My opinion isn't worth much though, because I have never actually stayed in any of the hotels.

Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. You girls would love the main pool and slide.

Boardwalk/Villas to walk (or boat) to EPCOT or DHS. Plus a great pool, plenty of shopping/dining.

As DVC members our favorite resort is the Boardwalk Villas. Location is great. You can walk or take the boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can walk over to the Yacht & Beach Club and the Swan & Dolphin for change of scenery. Plenty to do on the boardwalk in the evening/night. For a non DVC resort, our favorite is the Contemporary. Great views of the Magic Kingdom and some resorts. The monorail to Magic Kingdom & Epcot is great. You can also take the monorail to the Grand Floridian or Polynesian.
