Which resort???

DH has decided to go to WDW this year with myself and my stepson. We normally make trips alone or with extended family since he really is not interested in going. He has not been since our honeymoon in 1992, when we stayed at Carribean Beach Club. Now we normally stay at value resorts since we tour commando and are never in the room. With him along the commando touring will be out the window, but we are ok with that. He like a relaxed vacation and would be happy sitting in a concierge lounge enjoying a beer......any reccommendations????

Does he like animals? If so, what about the AKL? Or what about one of the resorts in the EPCOT area? Then he could hang out near the Boardwalk.

Teresa, we need more info. Does your DH want the quietest resort? or the easiest to run back to?

For peace and quiet, I think OKW is the best place to be no question. Its so relaxing and if you are going to be and out you can use the kitchen for lunch and offset the expense of the upgraded hotel.

For proximity, and appeal for a guy, I would go for the Yacht Club. It's very gentlemanly, imho, and is just a stone's throw from MGM and Epcot.

I love OKW - very relaxing.

if he wants to party - BWV - above Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance.

or SSR - next door to DD/PI.

what does he like to do?

golf, fish, tennis, basketball, volleyball, water ski, horseback riding, etc - there are a bunch of stuff to do at WDW.

POR has a very nice lounge with a full bar and it's fairly quite. POR is very laid back.

I'm looking forward to my nights at the Yacht Club. Walking distance to Epcot and a short boat ride to MGM and the best pool in the park!

Probably the two most relaxing resorts on property are AKL and Poly. AKL is a little more moderately priced, but still a deluxe resort. The benefit of the Poly is location and transportation. The rooms are much larger and recently renovated.

If you have the extra money stay at the Poly, if not try the AKL.
