So excited we are booked for Nov 2012 at our "home" resort SS but are thinking of switching at our 7 month window...we are bringing my DM and my brother and his family as a surprise to our 2 DD...so 10 of us total 5 adults and 5 kids: boys 15 & 10, girls 8, 11, 13...
this will be my brothers families first visit as a family-have only been once and his two oldest were just babies at the time

what would be your first choice for a resort..we currently have a two bedroom and a one bedroom booked and will have two cars if that makes a difference...my family (dh, dd8, dd11 and myself) have previously stayed at SS, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge..loved them all but having a hard time deciding what would be best for this trip as it will prob be our last with all of us and my brothers family may not ever be able to return!! Just want this to be the best experience for everyone:goodvibes
thanks for the help!

Well, if you've stayed at BCV, you know about the Boardwalk area. Plenty to do, places to walk, shopping, dining, boats to 2 parks, Fantasia mini-golf....if you want to try something new, I'd go for BWV. That's our favorite place to stay.

If you are going either Jersey Week or Thanksgiving, you may have a hard time changing a two bedroom and a one bedroom to a different resort. So your decision may be made for your. Good luck.

yes we are going "Jersey Week" and did think of that but wanted opinions on which to change to prior, if we were lucky enough to be able to!
Thanks!

Do you have a favorite park? For different resorts for you to try I'd go with the following:

If Epcot or DHS I'd try to switch to BWV.
If MK I'd try and switch to BLT.
Or for unique resort impact I'd try and switch to AKV - especially if you have some animal lovers in your group.

Why not try the THV at SSR? Now is the time as the points increase in 2013.

ETA: saw you have 10, read 8 the first time.

LOVE all the parks;) Two of the girls are animal lovers so was going along those lines too! my one concern regarding BWV is the "quick" service options...one of the reasons we like WL is because of the resturant type of quick service with sit down options..always go for coffee in the AM too!!
but having never stayed at BWV don't know about my options just heard not very convienent options???

yes 10..was looking at THV too at first!

Well, a THV would not be that convenient since you really do need 2 villas. We were at VWL around November 15th one year and the Christmas Decorations were already up there. That would be my first choice. AKV savannah view would be my second.

Getting coffee in the AM at BWV isn't too much different than any other DVC resort. You can get it at the Bellevue lounge if you don't want to walk outside or at the Boardwalk Bakery. There's also a coffee stand out on the boardwalk that you can get refills at. But QS is a problem at BWV without a doubt. My favorite QS restaurant is Mara at AKV! (A very close second is Roaring Fork at WL/VWL) That is going to be very convenient if you were to stay at Jambo house and less convenient if at Kidani but getting coffee wouldn't be a problem at either location.

:lmao: OK can I ask why? what do like about it if you have been??
thanks!

The villas are gorgeous! The animals are fantastic! Mara and Boma are terrific. We'll be trying Saana for the first time in October. They do folklore telling by the fire and you can watch the animals with night vision goggles. If you stay at 2 bedroom at Kidani, you get a 3rd bathroom. :thumbsup2 I'm so excited for our Octiber trip there, can you tell? We're doing a split stay between the THV and AKV. :cloud9:

With that crew, I'd vote for AKV savannah views. You'll have a good chance to get those reservations at 7 months too. Enjoy whatever you decide.

If I had to stay at SSR I think I would try for THV and 1 bdrm at Grand stand SSR. Much more room for socializing in the THV then SSR, great outdoor space and the same number of points as a 2 bedroom but you get 3 bedrooms! and the walk from grandstand to THV (request near SSR walking path) is less then 5 minutes, beautiful walk. We just did this and it worked out great! The living room area at SSR seems so small! My second choice would be BLT if you can get it or AKV. I love being so close to MK BLT- that is just me.

you guys are great...I knew I would get a good response...
so it seems the majority is voting for AKV..I guess my next question would be which section? Jamba or Kidani and why?
thanks!

A two bedroom villa at AKV will only hold nine people. You'd have to add a studio or another one bedroom villa to fit all ten people.
