OK.....I am VERY early in planning, but my DH and I are missing WDW soooooooooo much that we are thinking about taking our "baby" (who's still baking) to WDW for her 2nd birthday. Of course we have to see where we stand financially and wat her personality is like, but it's still fun to plan!

So, my question is this. Which resort would you choose for a 2 year old? I am keeping in mind that we will spend most of our time in the MK, at the pool and in the room (for naps). As of right now, cost is not a factor because I am already saving up for our next WDW trip whether it be in 2 years or more. Please cast your vote and state your reason if you have one. Also, please feel free to share any personal experience! Thanks!!!!!!!!

Wow! I'm the first to answer your poll. I voted "Beach Club" because my 2 year old loves digging in the sand and wading in the water at SAB.

My second choice would be the Poly because of the zero-depth pool.

Don't assume that you will be spending all your time at the MK. My 2 year old loves all the parks. She enjoys the fountains at Epcot, the Lion King show at AK and the Playhouse Disney show at MGM. Plus, you'll need to do some things for yourself. While viewing WDW though the eyes of a 2 year old can be fun, they are not tall enough to ride Splash Mountain ;).

I picked the Poly, for the Monorail access, the pool, and just 'cuz I think it's one of the most relaxing resorts on your list.

Honestly, though, pick the resort that appeals to you, don't worry so much about the 2YO. They'll enjoy themselves wherever you go!

I voted for the CR, but I think the Poly would be good too. You really should get a hotel on the monorail loop for the easy access to the MK. I voted for CR because you can walk back so easily for naps without standing in line for the monorail. I've heard that some people don't like the theming at the CR, and honestly, I didn't care for it until I stayed there, but it is a nice resort with bright, beautiful colors.

If you can afford it, my vote is for any monorail Resort. A two year old, a monorail resort!! After all, you will be at MK most of the time, right? Just my opinion from experience when the kids were little. If you stay at CR (Chef Mickeys is here also), stay in the Tower, it's so much nicer than the wings.

I pikced the poly. OF the monorail resorts to me it would be the best for a young child. CR does not have a kidde pool or 0 entrance pool.

Poly... You have the Monorail, beach access, wonderful view of the lake and MK, as well as a relaxing environment for you and your wife (which may come in handy with a 2 yr old) Best of luck with with your "baking".

I was there in Oct 2001 with my then 2 and a half year old. HE adored taking the boat to MK - AND the buses AND the monorail - the trip to the parks were as much fun as the parks! It also has the sandy beach, and a great pool (although a previous poster's point about the zero entry at the Poly is a great plus) and the water running thru the lobby.

Any of them would be fun... I want to start planning a trip so badly!

best wishes on your "baking"

We've always stayed at the Polynesian with our children -- our next trip will be the first at the Animal Kingdom Lodge when our youngest turns 5. One of the things that we really appreciated about the Poly is the easy access to the Ticket and Transportation Center for the monorail to Epcot, in addition to the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Also, the the South Pacific theming of the Poly just seems to be more relaxing and the cast members who work there are very friendly!

WOW you really plan ahead.

I vote for the Contemporary, we stayed there a few times when our boys were around 2 years old. We stayed in the wing closest to MK. The side door of the wing was about 2 city blocks away from the entrance to MK. We walked to and from the MK many times during the day. (swims, naps, etc)

Funny story: the first day were were at the Contemporary we hopped on the Monorail not realizing how close we were to MK. Well we got on the Monorail only to find out that the Contemporary was the last stop. So we had to go for a little tour before we reached MK. From then on we just walked.

Good luck.

I chose the Poly--we stayed there the last 2 visits. We were in the Beach Club when Buzz was 2 (and Belle was 4), and he had a tough time with the walking--even with a stroller! It took forever to get to Spaceship Earth, Worls showcase held little appeal. The Tahiti building at the Poly will always be my perfect location--close to TTC, plus the lagoon, the pool, the atmosphere, the view. Sigh!
