Travelling with a 5 year old boy. Which one offers the better Kids Club?

Thank you so much!

My kids aren't at the age where we use these kids clubs yet but my bestfriend tells me when they are that her kids absolutely loved the Y/BC one and that it was best(they go about 4x a year and have stayed at most resorts with kids clubs in the past 3/4 years).

My son has spent time in three of the kids' clubs, the Cubs Den at the Wilderness Lodge, Simba's Cubhouse at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Neverland Club at the Polynesian.

He did NOT like the Neverland Club, at age 4... it was geared for older kids.

He enjoyed the Cubs Den both times, but his favorite is Simba's Cubhouse.

See different kids like different things. My DS was about 4 1/2 when he stayed at the Neverland Club. HE LOVED IT!!!! He keeps begging to go back. Last time we went to WDW we took my mom as well as this trip in September, but again I keep hearing, please mom just for a little while. :)

My son has stayed at both the Neverland club and the Sand Castle Club (BC kids club). He love them both. So much so both times he asked to go again during each trip.

The Sand Castle Club tends to have fewer children (at least when we were there). I think the Neverland Club books up often. The only difference between the 2 (as I understand) is theaming. They all offer the same type of activities.

Take Care
Jamie

I'm new to the site, and I am trying to get some information. :cool1: But , does anyone know if the kids clubs will take a 3 year old if she is potty trained & stand s over 36 inches :confused3

I have checked, as my dd has been pt'd since before she was 2. I was told 4 AND potty trained. Not sure what height would have to do with it.

As I understand it the age has to do with the childcare laws in Fla and the ratio of caregivers to children for children under 4

I see. Thank you. The height does mean squat I know that, it just was in referance to " your child must be this tall to ride...." Anyway, would it be better if I wait another year to take my DD of 3 down there, or would she enjoy it just as much this year? :rolleyes1

DS is only 3 but we went to the Neverland club at the Poly last month. They are open to guests (parents must stay with their children) before 4 pm IF there are no scheduled events. DS loved Neverland so much (so did DH with the free video games LOL), so we tried to go back 4 straight afternoons after that, but they were closed for special events every time. DS was so disappointed.

I think you DD3 will enjoy it a lot!! This year and next year! There's plenty of things to ride/see for her age. Our very first family trip was when DD was only 18 mo and DS at 3. Though they don't remember much or if any... but I know they enjoyed it. The smiles and laughter... we made beautiful memories and pictures showed it.

If you really want to use the Kid's Club... then yes, maybe you might want to wait next year if the requirements have to be 4 years and potty trained. But as far as the park goes... I say go and do it this year and next year too if you can!

Our DD7 loves the Sandcastle Club. It was closed for our Feb 2005 trip so we tried the Cub's Den and she did not like it too well. She asked to leave early when we stopped by to check on her. (she never said why she did not like it, just shrugged her shoulders) We had her booked in the Simba's Club a few nights later. We dropped her off and went to Boma for dinner. We went to check on her and thought she would want to leave early again but she asked if she could stay the rest of the time. SHe loved it! We ended up watching the Super Bowl at the pool bar and having a drink just so she could stay. We told everyone we were at the ADULTS CLUB waiting to get picked up by our kid! :flower:
