I am currently planning our first disney trip for May 2008. I have read way too many things and I am very confused. Looking at the Disney video the family all thought the GF was perfect for us but now I have second thoughts. Poly seems to be a really popular choice also. I like their location for MK and sand beaches.
I am considering splitting my week between GF and either BC or BW. Is this a pain or fairly simply thing people do. My daughter also thought AK looked cool but I thought too far away from everything else. Any input would be greatly appreciated.:cheer2:

thank you

Visit the resort threads here on the Dis. You will find trip reports and lots of pics and there will be plenty of people on there to help with any questions.
Have fun planning...it is part of the fun!

Personal input!! We have the Contemporary and the Beach Club as our personal faves! We did a split one year with the C. and the GF. The GF is VERY beautiful, but for the amount of time in the room, it wasn't worth it for us. The room was a bit bigger than the Cont., but we were in a building farther out, so it was lots of extra walking for the kids.

We love the BC because we end our day with a dinner at a world showcase country, and can just walk back. The Cont. tower rooms with a Magic Kingdom view is spectacular!!This is probably where we will go in Jan.

The resort threads here are great. You still have time to make a decision. Also, since you are looking at May, the BC has Storm Along Bay-wonderful pool area. My kids favorite, so that may sway your decision. Also, you can walk to the Boardwalk Inn.

We usually let availability and room choice make our decision between these two-they are both great.

Lots of people love the Poly, but personally, we liked the Cont. better. Just my 2 cents!!!

Have fun planning- it's addictive!

Really, any of the choices work. Also don't overlook WL and DAKL. Both are really outstanding theme-wise.

As for switching, it's quite easy. Just tell the front desk when you check in that you will be switching resorts, pack your luggage for that mornng, and place it by the room door. They take care of it for you. I personally left early and checked in at my second resort before hitting the parks (takes some time, but it isn't that bad).

I love all resorts on the MK monorail loop! GF is fabulous!!!! We are staying there for a 2nd time in Oct. The Poly is great, my DH always stayed there as a teen with parents...he like that one! The Contemporary is great and was just rehabbed recently...WL is fun and is not on the monorail, but is a ferryride away from MK!!!! I love that place too! If I were to pick...monorail beats all other resorts! IMO!!!!!! Hope this helps!
