Value for my money is really important. SO...

FD and other discounts aside, at rack rate, which resort at Disney has the best value for the price you pay?

Paying rack rate with no other discounts I would choose POFQ every time.

Pretty hard for anyone to argue that Coronado Springs isn't by the far the biggest bang for the buck when you consider it has all the amenities the Deluxe resorts have for the Mod price.

Agreed.

All of them!

The answer is highly subjective. I have stayed at more or less every resort (except DVC, and ASSp). All the resorts have pros and cons, and where we stay is going to vary widely with what kind of price deal I can get.

During a peak holiday pricing, go value resorts. AoA or Pop, or ASMu. Values also have pluses for efficient transportation, and great food courts. AoA gets bonus for healthy coices. Rooms are tiny though. I find myself making due with no counter space, limited closet/dresser space.

The mods have nice amenities, but they are very large. I put a premium On how efficient my time is spent. I really dislike wasting time on a bus looping around a large lake, or walking forever. Food court at Coronado, not so great anymore.

For us, preferred location room is a good deal, others might need to be in a 'quiet' location. I gain lots of extra fun by cutting out extra resort walking time.

When deals are good, then the deluxes have something great! The convenience, the theming, the larger room, the service. All those add up.

But it also matters a good deal what kind of theming you like. I mean the Contemporary has convenience, but not much theming. The Poly has great theming, but not hot tub. The BWK has great theming, close to two parks, but boy is it a large hotel- in terms of walking around. Love BC/YC pool, convenience to parks. but they don't have a great food court. AoA is very cute, very new. Just not the amenities of deluxes.

Up until this year, I'd also have given a great plug for concierge level at the deluxes. Some folks might find it a crazy splurge- surely one could get a LOT of groceries for the cost off the food offerings included, but club level means food is prepped for you. I would pay almost anything to avoid the nasty refillable mugs in exchange for self serve lattes in real coffee cups! No line, just help yourself. Club level is the easiest way to get the most pure vacation time for your money. The extra staff is a huge plus.

If you like to vacation on a tight budget, it is not for you. If however, your time is precious, and you place a premium on getting the most bang for your time, CL might be for you.

The question isn't which is your favorite resort, it's which has the best bang for the buck. On paper that is CSR hands down, nothing is close.

Value is subjective, and not everyone is interested in the same things. There are no absolutes in these discussions.

I would have to disagree. (certainly no suprise there). That bang you keep banging on about is different for different people. I happen to dislike so many things about CSR that the few Deluxish amenities make no difference to me at all. There is only value in an item if it is important to the individual. Just because you value a certain set of amenities, etc, does not mean that everyone does. Your assertion that your opinion is the only correct one is ill conceived.

POR all the way.. the best grounds at WDW. Great arcade and shop. Boat ride to DTD. Horse Carriage rides and a fishing hole. Plus Piano Bob.

Yes, but you're talking about what makes a resort your favorite. Amenities per dollar goes to CSR.

IMO AKL - if offers something totally unique and is a well themed Disney Resort experience for a lower rate than most deluxe resorts. :goodvibes

Not even close. Wilderness Lodge is a far better value and the poll participants seem to agree.... :rotfl2:

A vote for CSR Business Class. A lounge with complimentary food and drinks(hard & soft) morning and night. Complimentary on-site fitness center access. Full service spa on-site. Maya Grill table service restaurant. Rix night club(for after hours adult beverages). A great pool with bar and snack bar. A very large whirlpool hot tub. An outdoor bar on the waterfront. All for a slightly higher than Moderate price(Business Class is a higher rate room category). Also, it is a beautiful resort, especially at night.

I put in POFQ, but I also love POR so either of the PO resorts are my favorites.

I love the small intimate feel of the resort. Nothing is far away and even a "standard" room is great distance wise to everything.

The theming of both PO resorts is spectacular I like Disney but I don't want it in my face 24/7. I live in the plains so the lush vegetation, the Louisiana music and decorations, and the river scenery while walking makes me feel like I am truly on a vacation.

The boats to DTD are fantastic. Granted they are slow but I love that little cruise back in the trees. This gives you a ton of dining options really close at hand, plus a few shopping and activities to make off park times still fun and vacation worthy. (I have never had a "good" bus experience with DTD)

I am not a pool person, but at either of the PO resorts you can use any of the pools. A quick boat ride or walk gets you extra pool options.

Since I don't tend to do pools/gyms/or many resort TS meals/and I have no desire to stay at CL rooms, the Deluxe price didn't get me much in the way of perks. The mod price is great for my budget and the list of amenities is right in line for what I want. A true RESORT feel to my stay without a huge price tag for things I don't use.

(I stay at all levels depending on my plans. Value usually for solo times, Deluxe for family/relaxing stays, and MOD as my first choice as the best of both worlds)

Wilderness Lodge. Lower price than (most) other deluxes, great location, boat to MK, electrical water pageant on the beach, nice pool, good dining options.

Staying at WL this coming November ... Hoping its bang for our bucks : )

My vote is WL hands down. Cheap for a deluxe property, boat to MK, close to the monorail resorts and great food on all levels...also so serene.
