My husband and I ate at the California Grill on our last trip (as we always do!). After walking around the resort awhile we realized we had a lot of time to kill before our ADRs, so we check out their arcade.

We had a blast in there! It was so much fun!

So my question is, who has the best arcades, in your opinion?

The Cont used to but haven't been there since it was rumored to have moved. Not sure if that happened yet.

As you know CSR has 2 smaller arcades, one in the main building and one by the main pool.

The Contemporary's arcade is still there and is still as much fun. In my familily's opinion it's the best arcade of all the resorts. We were there a couple weeks ago and had a great time. The only thing that has changed since our last trip is that you now buy points on a card that you swipe to play most games.

Contemporary, hands down! No other arcade on property can compare, really.

It's been a tradition in my family to block off some CR arcade time each trip since I was a little girl. Even now that I'm 32 and married, we STILL enjoy playing there!

Definately the contemporay! My DD loved the arcade there so much she asked about staying at the CR next time. Of course mom said most likely not. Love the restaurants but not my kind of place.

A friend's two teenage boys actually pouted one year because they weren't staying at the Polynesian so they could catch the monorail and go over to the Contemporary's arcade. The Yacht Club and the arcade at the Boardwalk just wasn't enough for them.

Cont for the deluxes

Por for the moderates

Pop for the values.

all are bigger than the others in the same cat.

Pop probably has the newest machine.

I have heard that the Contemporary's arcade gives away prizes for points? Are the prizes Disney related, or are they just the run of the mill, plastic rings, spiders, slinkys, etc.?

They are the same cheap trinkets that you find at any arcade.

The CR has the best arcade. I don't go there as much any more, but when I was younger I loved going there.

The CR. My kids love it!

Something broke down the last night we were there last year and a CM flipped a switch (or something - the kids were too excited for me to get it straight) and all the games were free! DH and the two older ones were gone for hours while my youngest slept and I got everything packed and ready for leaving the next morning. Worked out quite well. :)

We love the Contemporary arcade, too. :) Even without ds on our last trip, dh and I spent an hour playing 80's video games and skee ball! :thumbsup2

We would visit the CR arcade each time we had dinner @ chef mickeys...DSs didn't want to waste their dime on the other hotels arcades.

CM are very polite & patient with the kids when they're cashing in their tixs...nice touch IMO.

It's supposed to be moved up to where the Concourse Steakhouse is; with them switching place...good idea as to noise level considerations & way to make revenue frp, the Chef Mickey patrons as they await their meal with the mouse.

Just thinking about the awesome arcade at CR gets me excited for our trip! I haven't been in years but I still clearly remember playing air hockey, ski ball and the laser shooting game with my big brothers! I think my kids are too little this year, but I'll probably drag them over there anyway. :)

The CR arcade is the best. :thumbsup2 I have a 16 yr old son that grew up going to WDW over the past 15 yrs and absolutely KNOWS arcades, lol. The CR arcade is one reason my kids (all 3) love that resort so much. We've done 'em all and for the variety, size of the arcade, and the price CR wins.

We haven't stayed there in 2 yrs, due to us loving the GF all of a sudden & being frequent guests there, but the GF arcade cannot compete with CR's. The CR used to give tickets for pretty decent little prizes - I am not sure if they still do. My son used to go down after a day in the parks and win his little sisters all kinds of special prizes. That was the grand finale to their great days at the parks and it was kind of a little tradition for the kids. :)

Enjoy!

Here is another vote for the Contemporary arcade. I can not count all the times I have spent in there, because it's so much fun & the best arcade out of all the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. I can't wait until next month when I get to go back there & play even more games.

We like to check out the arcades. The Comtemporary has the best one weve seen so far. The Grand Floridian only had a few games. We are going to check out the Poly. Anyone know?

During our last trip end of Oct/beginning of November, we took a day off from the parks. My DS and I let DH chose the activity of the day - and he decided we would ride the monorail around to the resorts and arcade hop - LOL. We had a CM take our picture at each arcade. It actually was quite fun - including rides in the front of the monorail, some great pin trading and lunch at Konas. For monorail resort, CR wins hands down. DS dropped to his hands and knees and did a little bow to the row of pinball machines.

As for non monorail resorts, we liked the Beach Club arcade. It's pretty nice - and you can stop for a gelato at the store - Yum!

We were hoping the Comtemporary was just one of many good arcades!

Looks like well just stop back there.

Thanks!
