Ok, we stayed at Pop Century last month. My only complaint is that the beds are small and hard. SOG was booked or we would have stayed there since dh is in the military. We have the tempurpedic mattresses at home, and dh has major back problems so a good comfortable mattress is important to us. Can you recommend a resort that has good comfortable mattresses? We've been thinking about DVC but not sure how those resorts would compare as well? All your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Most places we have stayed I never notice anything special about the bed except the Heavenly Beds at the Westin but I went to the Polynesian last August and when I got into bed it was so comfortable that I noticed it right away. I have NEVER been so comfortable in a bed before. Shortly after I found out they changed the beds and they are now the same that were put into the GF. I believe the mattress is a Sealy. It even beat the feel of the Heavenly beds.

i liked the beds at Contemporary they were comfortable but i am used to a normal dorm bed so maybe my standard is lower

I love the beds at OKW. Since you mentioned you wanted to try DVC, OKW beds (in the studios -- I would assume they have same beds in 1 & 2 bedrooms) were great. Queen size and so comfortable!!!!!!

We stayed in a renovated south wing room at the CR a few weeks ago and...OMG the beds were SSSOOOooo comfy. They were queen size and very soft comfy with lots of comfy pillows too. We sleep on an Angel Bed at home (temperpedic knockoff) and loved the beds at CR. I am assuming that the renovated rooms at the Poly have the same new beds...anybody know?

Hope that helps :teeth:

I have a difficult time with a lot of mattresses and my back too. The beds at AKL were comfortable enough so I didn't wake up with a sore back every morning.

I liked the bed at CSR so much that I wrote to WDW to ask what kind of mattress they had there. They responded within a couple of days and then I went out and bought nearly the same mattress (the store said that they don't sell the exact same kind to the general public). I love my bed! (I can't remember what brand and model it is, but it was definitely at CSR.)

The GF :cloud9:

I'm psyched if the Polynesian got the same beds. My dh and I couldn't get over how comfortable the beds at the GF were.

I was thinking of the bed we had at OKW too. 1 BR, so it was king size. I also have a bad back, and I noticed after a few days there, that my back didn't bother me all week. After 1 day back home, when my back started bothering me in the AM again, I wondered about what kind of mattresses they had at OKW-thinking, "I want one of those!"

Not the BC. We stayed at the BC concierge last fall and the beds were terrible. you could feel the edge of the mattress, the rest sunk in. We had more comfy beds at a Country Inns on our drive home.

Not POR. My back was killing me the entire time we were at POR. When we returned home, I even created a thread on the uncomfortable beds .. Never had that problem at Poly, but haven't stayed at Poly since 2004.

I think the GF, Poly, and the Swan/Dolphin have comfy beds.

How are the Yacht Club beds???? Any comments??? Hopefully not bad like somebody mentioned BC's are.

I agree that the pillowtop mattresses at the Polynesian and GF are very comfortable. :thumbsup2

Beach Club Villas is getting pillowtops too. :cool1:

I was hoping someone would say that POFQ had great beds ;) . We"ll find out in Aug. I guess they're most likely average, since it's a moderate. That's OK, I don't need no stink'n sleep! I'm not going there for the sleep! :thumbsup2

Grand Floridian, Polynesian (new rooms), WL (new rooms), Cont (new rooms), SSR, and some OKW rooms have the new Sealy Plush pillow top. BCV and VWL are getting them too.

They are very comfy.

Thanks so much for the info, Sammie! My question was going to be which of the DVC resorts have the best beds, lol! Good to know SSR has the pillowtop, since it's our home resort (although we have yet to stay there). But, now that I'm rest assured that we'll get a good night's rest at SSR, I may need to book our next trip there.

We LOVED the heavanly beds at the Swan! I know we were completely exhausted and probably could have fallen asleep in the parking lot, but I thought their beds were remarkably comfy! :cloud9:

Sammie, how about the YC??? I am staying there for a few nights before the GF. You didn't mention the YC!!! :p I sure hope the beds are comfy.

We own a Sealy pillow top and it is awesome. No wonder I thought the Poly and GF had comfy beds. ;)

We stayed at the GF last year, and loved the beds so much we bought one! You can get one thru Sealy's Guest Purchases program, and they are extremely reasonable... It's called a Sealy Encore 720 Plush Pillowtop...and after tax and shipping for our California King mattress it was only $832! Thats shipping to our door, not to a showroom.

Now I sleep in my disney bed every night. pirate:

Stayed at POR (AB) in January and the beds were very comfortable. I have a very bad back and too soft kills as much as too hard! I'm concerned because we're going back in Sept/Oct for free dining but could only afford value the second time around. Staying at ASM this time... :confused3
