:confused3 :confused3 Any advise on the best place to stay for the Marathon Weekend? Ive never stayed for this event before. Im running the half on Saturday. I will attend the Expo at WWS on Thursday. Any ideas for convenience.

I have previously stayed at ***, ASM, BW, CB and PC.

We use to come to WDW so DH could run the marathon. (Now we live near WDW.)
For marathon we had stayed at:
CSR
ASMu
ASMo

Honestly, I would avoid the All Stars mostly because you will be sharing a resort with very young (and loud :rotfl2: ) athletic goups -- and their loud buses. (Yes, we were at ASMu one year the same time as the imfamous cheerleaders, that were followed by even louder male soccer players.)
Disney does a good job of segregating like sport event participants. But I don't see that they do anything to control the negative behavior.
I would stay away from Riverside for the same reason. And probably FQ too just for good measure. :rotfl:

Depending on your budget a monorail or Epcot resort would be best.
If you are looking for a moderate, then I would stick with CBR or CSR.

When we stayed at CSR the resort did run out of hot water for us who did not rise at 3 - 4 a.m. to catch a bus to the start line. That was the only downside there. And whether that was just a fluke, hard to say.

HTH :wizard:

Before you decide and get your heart set on a particular resort, call and see what is available. I know that several resorts are already full for marathon weekend. Best of luck in your decision!:goodvibes

DH has run the full marathon in 2006 and 2007 and decided to run the half marathon this year. We always stay at a monorail resort (we stayed at both Poly and GF and are staying at the Poly this time) because the kids and I like to take the monorail over to MK, watch DH run through, and then get back on the monorail to TTC and switch to the EPCOT monorail to watch DH cross the finish line.

MK resorts give you transportation to and from Epcot on the monorail. With the Epcot resorts you'll still have to ride the bus to the start (the half does still start at Epcot, right?).

But there could be a lot of rooms already booked by now, so you might have to take whatever you can get.

Yes the half does start at Epcot. Great advise Im going to try to get in a MK resort.

We enjoy staying at Pop for marathon weekend but it is also the one that seems to book up quickly.
