Hello Everyone!! Need some advice from all who have had thier honeymoon's at disney or plan on going to disney for your honeymoon on what resort should my fiance and I stay at for our honeymoon.

Money plays kind of an important factor when deciding where we should stay, we want to splurge a little because its our honeymoon but we don't want to go overboard. Any advice you can give me would be great and if you have a questions for me on details that I may have forgotten to include, let me know and I will be happy to answer them.

Thanks in advance for all your help. Can't wait to see what the responses will be!! :)

:cool1: :surfweb: :laundy:

While we went all out for our honeymoon, it was also my DH first time at Disney and I wanted him to be wowed. We stayed at the Grand Floridian which was a little on the expensive side... while it was beautiful and nice for a honeymoon, all you're really doing there is sleeping!

I go every September with friends and we stay at Port Orleans Riverside and absolutely love it there. The mansions are beautiful and it would be very romantic for a honeymoon. That would be my recommendation!!!! Though anywhere you end up staying will be fantastic because you will be together and married!!!!!!!

We are staying at both of those places! :thumbsup2 We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian for the first two nights of our honeymoon and then will be spending the next seven days at Port Orleans Riverside. I can't wait!! :goodvibes

We're on a budget and decided to stay at Port Orleans Riverside for our honeymoon. The cost was in our price range and the resort came highly recommended from others who have stayed there for their honeymoons.

I loved staying at the AKL for our honeymoon. We had a blast sitting on the balcony watching the animals. Plus, its a deluxe resort, but it is one of the cheaper ones for a standard room (although I think it would be worth the extra money to pay for a savannah view room, rather than hope to get upgraded).

Our other favorite resort is the Boardwalk. I love the convience of it, being able to walk to EPCOT and MGM, and all the restaurants that are in that area. But it is one of more expensive deluxes.

we stayed at the GF< and while it was a very expensive honeymoon, it was also DH's first time in Disney, AND we spent a lot of time at the resort. we were not open to close park people, we hung out in the lobby and listened to the band, we layed by the pool, walked the grounds, watched the water parade form the beach, watched wishes from gasparillas, hng out a lot in the concierge lounge, etc. etc. so we felt a little more like we got our "money's worth" at the hotel. If you want to go deluxe but not super expensive my vote is the AKL.

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon. Like the AKL, it's a less expensive deluxe. We also considered Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orelans Riverside. I think any of those would be great options!

I am having trouble deciding where to stay aswell---but I think we will be doing the first couple of days at POR, then Contempory or Polynesian for 2 nights and then AKL for the rest of our stay.

There are so many great options that it is hard to choose.

We are staying at the Beach Club. We have not stayed there before but I just loved the location, being right by epcot and a walk away from MGM, it really is worth the price. princess:

We're staying at the Contemporary in a Magic Kingdom view, we picked that resort because DF loved the new decor in the rooms and neither one of has stayed there and I have been to Disney World 8 times, actually I've never stayed at a deluxe before. I'm getting really excited!

We are going on our Disneymoon in December, and staying at Wilderness Lodge. It is SO romantic and absolutely gorgeous at Christmas, I think its the perfect winter honeymoon resort. We were going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside b/c of money, but my parents have decided to help us pay for it so we decided on our first choice, the WL. But that being said, I think POR or POFQ are the most romantic moderate hotels. You can also find good deals through mousesavers for the DTD resort hotels, even though its not the same as staying at Disney you can find a really nice hotel thats much cheaper and almost as close to everything. When are you going? I think that sometimes the season may make a difference as well, for prices as well as just the overal theme and feel. BUT, all that being said, its your honeymoon and its DISNEY and it will be awesome wherever you stay.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Garden Suites and the Poly. I loved both places, but the Poly is really special to us. I think it is a great place and the conceirges there are so sweet and helpful.

We're staying at the Polynesian. We originally had AKL booked and were SO excited then heard about the construction. Just didn't want to chance it on our FIRST :cool1: trip to Disney. We probably would have been just as happy somewhere else but kind of picked it on a whim. I do like the tropical look of it. I guess it something about staying at a tropical looking place instead of going somewhere actually tropical for the honeymoon that we liked! It's second best! If I had known that they don't really do a bunch of xmas decorations there we might have looked into somewhere else. I LOVE Christmas.

In anyone's opinon--

which resort do you guys prefer--> Contemporary or Polynesian???

Poly, it is a lot quieter and more private. To me there are too many people traveling thru the Contemporary.

We are staying at the WL for our Wedding/Disneymoon. I absolutely love that resort, and especially at Christmas. As for a moderate resort, I really like the Caribbean Beach. It may not be as beautiful as POR or Coronado Springs, but it isn't bad by no means. Plus the location is really close to the Studios and Epcot, but still is secluded.

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas for our disneymoon in October..... we rented points for the first time, which made it soooooo affordable..... if you have the money, my first choice would have been the Polynesian for sure! Or, of course, the Grand Floridian is the best! Have fun!

We split our stay between Boardwalk in a one bedroom villa (we're dvc owners) and the Contemporary Atrium Club. We loved both resorts for different reasons. There's so much to do in the Boardwalk area and the view at the Contemporary is the best (imho)!

I love the Contemporary and think its really cool to see, but I agree with Heather, I don't think it's the most romantic hotel at Disney, unless you can afford to stay club level in the tower rooms or something and have those amazing views. Personally I LOVE the Polynesian, it's very romantic and tropical, I just don't like that its all kinda spread out. But its a great honeymoon resort, one of my fave things is the hammocks or just laying on the beach and watching the Electrical Water Parade with Wishes at MK in the background.
