Which resort for concierge?

Hi - this is a question for all those DISers who have stayed concierge at one or more of WDW's resorts: which resort concierge did you prefer and why? I already have this year's vacation planned, but after reading some concierge reviews, I think I'd like to try this for a future trip to WDW! Of course, we all have different preferences and tastes, but reading your opinions will help me to decide (or it might make the decision harder-LOL).

Thanks!

I've stayed concierge at GF, BWI, AKL (2 times), Polynesian, and YC.

The AKL and Polynesian were both incredible in terms of service and lounges. The rooms at AKL are smaller, but the savannah views make up for it. The Polynesian lagoon view is also incredible. Both of these are favorites, although in the summer months I think I would opt for the Polynesian and in the winter months the AKL for sure.

The BWI was very nice with good service.

The YC wasn't the best stay I've ever had, but not terrible. However I'm not sure I would go back woth so many other options.

The GF was terrible and I'll never stay concierge there again.

:) :) Hi we travel to Disney 3-4 times per year, and we have stayed at Polynesian concierge, Grand Floridian concierge and Wilderness Lodge concierge. I love the Polynesian, I was not impressed with the Grand Floridian concierge at all actually I was very disappointed and upset, the service was way below par, the food selections were horrible and the room was small and dirty. After receiving a small refridgerator that we requested we opened the door and it was full of mold. I have never been disappointed at the Polynesian. The other room that I really liked was The Wilderness Lodge two bedroom villa very nice !!!!

I'm bumping this because I'd like to read some more reviews!

Thanks to those who have already posted their opinions!

Hi! The WL concierge staff was very friendly & accommodating, even getting a box for us and shipping our wedding things back home for us. But we probably wouldn't stay there again, b/c the concierge seems to be a bit of an afterthought. There's no real concierge lounge; you just sit in tables that are spread along the walkway, looking down into the lobby. It's noisier and less private than the GF concierge.
We give the GF concierge RAVE reviews :) We loved the food selections, which were much more varied and higher quality than the foods at the WL concierge. Some of our happiest moments of the trip were of sitting at the table for two in the concierge lounge, looking at the Castle, sipping wine, and listening to the orchestra play downstairs. There's something truly decadent and marvelously relaxing about the atmosphere at the GF.
Cheers!

I stayed at the AKL concierve on 9/02 for my birthday. I absolutely loved it!!!! I received a cake shortly after arrival from the concierge staff. The experience was magnificent from the moment we arrived and had someone greet us by name and whisk us directly to our room. He then gave us a tour of the hotel and took us to the concierge lounge to be checked in. The lounge is wonderful and the staff there go out of their way to make everyone comfortable. Cast members are always playing with the kids or giving them toys or imitating Disney characters. I did a lot of research in these boards before selecting AKL and was not disappointed by the selection.

Although I have stayed at other hotels' concierge levels, this was my first time doing concierge at a Disney resort (although I have stayed in quite a bit of them, but in regular rooms). The AKL was superior to all others, except maybe the Portofino Hotel at Universal, which is in the same league as AKL.

I agree the rooms are smaller than I expected, but since I hardly spent any time in there, it was not of great concern. I was either at the park or the pool (which is awesome).

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, everyone! It seems that the overall favorites, from this thread and from comments I have read in other threads, are AKL and the Polynesian. I'll most likely be deciding between these 2 on my next trip to WDW!:)
