It's killing me, our next trip isn't until December 2005!! It seems like forever!! Well, a friend is coming down from MI and we're going to have a girl's trip in April so I guess it's not too bad. For the whole family we'll be going in December, parents, dd (12), dd(1), db, dh. We luuuuvvv Christmas lights and decorations so I think it'll be a wondeful trip. Which resort would you recommend and why? Our home resort is BCV, but I'm willing and want to try all the resorts sooner or later.

I always thought the VWL would be nice at Christmas time. It sort of reminds me of home (only without the snow). I just think that if they decorate for Christmas, it should be very pretty.

I have 2 opinions. My first choice would be the VWL, we stayed there last year, it's decorated so beautifully, we shared the VWL Christmas tree, it was wonderful to walk in the woods and we didn't have any trouble getting back from the MVMCP.

However, Christmas at WDW also means the Osborne Lights and the Candlelight Processional and these are within walking distance of BCV. This year our family group will be staying at BWV, that's where most of our points are, and I think it's going to be great.

me, a New Englander would love VWL, for that feel like home atmosphere.

I have been to WDW at Xmas time and ALL the resorts were beautiful. Those w/ big lobbies usually have HUGE trees, whereas OKW had a small tree. Wherever you stay be sure to visit other resorts and see their unique decorations. Disney never dissapoints.

Go to Mickey's Xmas party and watch it snow on Main St. Last winter we got blasted w/ some good snow storms- what does my DD recall..."Remember the time it snowed at Disney!!!" My response "Remember the time I shoveled 2 feet of snow while your Dad was out of town?"
Kids- gotta love 'em!

VWL - it has decoration that a pretty wonderful and next door to WL - whose decorations can't be beat.

this is a very special place during Christmas

but as bobbiwoz - only the MVMCP is at the MK - the other stuff is at Epcot and studios.

I generally change from year to year - do MVMCP stay at VWL - next year do the Candlelight Procession stay at BWV.

We too change from year to year. Last year we were at the VWL and the year before at the BWV. (This year non DVC, but don't tell anyone here). BWV is our favorite resort but there is something special about the VWL at Christmas time. It was amazing last year.

We stayed at the VWL for Christmas two years ago, and it was wonderful! Wouldn't stay anywhere else at that time of year.::yes::

Of course, I'm a bit biased, but I think that they're going to do SSR up quite nicely for Christmas. There's lots of room ::wink:: for trees and lights - and I bet that the four buildings that face DTD will be done up extra nice to show off the place.

We've only been at WDW during one holiday season and we stayed at VWL. It was indeed beautiful. So were all the others. I took two days and just toured all of the resorts (DVC and nonDVC) and took lots of pictures. They all had their own charm and theme. Just depends on what you like. Of course, SSR will be celebrating its first holiday season. I won't be there this year, so I hope someone posts pictures of all the decorations there.

We will be at SSR from Dec. 19th through the 24th. I figured it should be nicely decorated since it will be SSR's first Christmas.

I thought the location to DTD's christmas shopping might be nice as well. I hear there is ice skating. DD (7) loves to ice skate.

My favorite is VWL, although I have never stayed there during Christmas. I have stayed at WL, and visited many others.

Although my pick would be VWL, I agree with Doctor T. and rsschneck that SSR has the potential to be awesome.

I don't think you can make a mistake no matter which you pick...

Quick question for those who have responded to this post.

When does DVC take down Christmas Decorations. We are going on the 2nd of January and I was curious if any would still be up?

you might - they start on the 2nd - but someone else says they don't kick it into high gear until the 5th - lots to see on the 5th - all gone on the 6th....

So hope you get some.....

Hmmm, tough call. They are all done soooo beautifully. We haven't made a decision where to stay based on decorations though, but we seem to always find a reason to visit different resorts and sure enjoy the differences.
