Is there a resort where we could see the fireworks from our room/balcony? If so, which one? Certain floors/areas/room numbers?

Also, interested in a moderate or deluxe that would be appealing to a 7YO girl. Something that offers a little more than "just a room". KWIM?

THANKS!

I know you can see them from the beaches at the Contemporary and the Polynesian, and from some of the rooms at either resort. I'm not sure about Fort Wilderness or the Wilderness Lodge.

My kids were thrilled with the idea of staying at the Contemporary "The monorail goes right THROUGH mom??" , and now are equally thrilled with the Poly "They have a VOLCANO pool????" . I'm pretty sure that anyplace on site would appeal to your 7 year old daughter.

From the GF too, as long as you request a lagoon view room there, then you can view from a balcony. Otherwise the boat dock by Narcoosees or the beach there.

Oops, sorry, how did I miss that one?? My sister leaves for the GF in 2 weeks :)

You can see Wishes from some rooms (and some windows in the hallways) at Wilderness Lodge. You can see Illuminations from the Swan and Dolphin.

We had an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our room at the Polynesian (Tahiti lagoon view).

We verified last night that my youngest HATES the sound of fireworks, so I have a question:

Are the fireworks really noisy from the beach (I know, incredibly relative question.) But I'm wondering whether she'll be able to manage there, wtih the help of some earplugs, or whether it's a better idea to just bring her to our GV room.

Not in all cases, I think, but in many -- you have to book and pay for an MK view to be able to really see the fireworks from your room.

Oh, and Alice - no the fireworks are not loud from the Poly beach, at all - nothing like being in the park. I can't speak to the Contemporary, but obviously it's quite a bit closer than the Poly.

Thanks so much Vicki!!!

I'm perfectly OK with missing them if it keeps her from being terrified. But I think she would enjoy them if only they weren't so darn loud!! Maybe having one of us taking her back early to watch them from the Poly beach is the answer.

I just got back from the Comtemporary, so I can give you my view.

We didn't stay in a tower room ($$$:scared: ), but you don't need to in order to get a good view. Right off of the concourse (4th floor of the tower) there is a balcony that many people don't know about. You can sit on the benches (right under the monorail tracks) and watch the fireworks without obstruction. Also, they pipe in the music from the MK so you hear what everyone hears in the park. After watching it once in the park, it was nice to be at the hotel and see it. I think this is a great option.

The only downside is that the electrical light parade goes by the marina at the same time as the fireworks, so you'll always miss one or the other.

As for the noise, it will still be loud. You could try staying inside the concourse to dampen it, but you'll lose a lot of the view.

Thanks for the FYI. But I have a question. Is this inside or outside??? In October I think it would be nice to watch Wishes from somewhere other than the MK.

To the poster that was asking about WL. You might be able to see them from the beach. I know when we were there in April we could hear them going off but couldn't see them near the resort.

The balcony is outside. You would get some views if you stayed inside, but it would be obstructed.

You can also see them from the beach behind the hotel, but the view isn't quite as good. If you're on the far end of the pool, you could actually watch from there.

I'm a crazy New Englander. I'd sit in a pool at 10PM in October.

The Contemporary has the best view for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom since they are closest to there. So it's great watching them from there if you have a Tower Magic Kingdom View reservation, or going to the 4th floor observation deck. As for any loud noises at times they may sound loud, however I would say that happens towards the end.

When we went in 2006 we had a woodsview room at the Wilderness lodge and could see the castle and the fireworks. Sorry I can't remember the room number maybe 3032 or 4032??

The rooms overlooking the Magnolia Pool at Shades of Green offer a great view of Wishes every night.
I know its not an option for some, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Do you have to be a registered guest to go to the observation deck @ Cont.?
From the monorail exit, where would you go to get to the observation deck? Thanks.

Anyone can watch them at the Contemporary and to find the observation deck is very easy. When you come off the Monorail turn to your left past the arcade and Sundries store, then you will see two doors which leads to the observation deck.

Does anyone know, can you see Illuminations from the Boardwalk?
