We are looking at booking a shorter trip for next summer; :cool1: either 3 or 4 nights in July or August. For those of you that go more often during the summer, what would you estimate to be the better choice of days? Or which day(s) of the week would you steer clear from?

Last summer we were in the parks Sunday thru Friday and Tuesday was by far the craziest day of our trip, but I don't know if that was an anomaly or not.

Or is it a crazy question and there is no better choice.

It depends on when in August (and possibly when in July). Due to things like AP block outs.

I would stick to weekdays. If it was me and I had complete schedule flexibility, it would be Tue-Thur for a 3 day trip and Mon-Thurs for a 4 day trip. I know sometimes a weekday comes up as busier. But more often than not weekdays will be a little better than weekends. In the summer.

:wizard:

So it sounds like steering clear of weekends is a good idea then.
We will likely go either around Mid July or Mid August, 3Minnies.

As long as you are gone by the 20th of August, your dates should be great.

Why August 20th?? Is that when passholders can get back in?

Correct, and this Summer it may be an aweful time to be there depending on when Carsland opens and if many AP holders are waiting until that week in August to see it.

I hadn't planned on going at all next summer, parly because of Carsland opening, but we thought a quick, cheaper trip would be fun. We've only gone during the summer in the last several years so we're mostly prepared for heat and crowds.

We did a 3-day anniversary trip mid-Aug. 10-12 to be exact. All weekdays and stayed on property. Not bad. We were at the park either at opening or for MM. Took that afternoon nap and did what we wanted. I think as long as you are going mid-week and take advantage of early entry/FP/ extended hours you should be fine.

Thank you for your input!:thumbsup2 I think mid-week is going to be the way to go.
Did you enjoy the short trip?

Like I said, we did everything we wanted to do. But we are also AP holders and go a few times a year.

my experience has been Sunday is the lightest day in the parks because most people check in/out that day. So if you did Sat -thur..that would be good and since your Tuesday was crazy make that a pool/ or DTD day.

For us, when we've stayed during the summer (July), we've always made sure we were there on a Saturday since we get Early Entry and all of the AP's except, Premium are blocked. Lots of kids have Delxue AP's and they can't go on Saturday in the summer.
