While technically not a Disney restaurant we are thinking of eating at one of these. We have never been to a Rainforest Cafe before and wondered which one is the best to try.

On a related note is the one in Animal Kingdom open later if the park closes at 5PM?

thanks

We just recently returned from our vacation last month (May) and our last day was spent doing DDD and we had reservations at the Rainforest Cafe in DDD. It was very good! The kids really wanted this ressie and it didn't disappoint. The food and atmosphere both were good. We don't have any Rainforest Cafe's anywhere near us so it was a nice treat to have something different and something that had such theming. Here is a pic of our family outside the DDD one. I suggest you call DDD directly to make your ADR because we had an ADR and only waited 5 mins. There was a family in front of us that didn't have an ADR and was told it would be a 45 min wait. DDD gets reallly busy at nighttime/dinnertime and it was very crowded with people standing and sitting waiting for their names to be called for a table. Because of our ADR, we walked right in while others that were there when we arrived were still standing so make an ADR. It is a fun place. We enjoyed it :) :)

You MUST make an ADR at either one if you have any hope of being seated at your convenience. WDW-Dining will handle it for either one. We've eaten at both and enjoyed the experience. the only downside to the one at DTD is that they have a substantial outside seating area so you may not get into the main building at all :( and that was a big disappointment the one time it happened to us--we saw nothing of the interior until we went to the restrooms. The one at DTD/AK is convenient and has extended hours of operation that do not coincide with the park, so you're ok there. We have another one at AK scheduled 2 weeks from today, in fact:thumbsup2

Thanks for the advise!

I have found if you go at or just before 4:00 PM for dinner they will seat you right away. Everytime my family and I go to the location at Downtown Disney that's we do and we never had to wait for a table.
