This will be our first family trip for me, dh, ds 8 and dd 6, (dd 5months will be staying with grandparents). We are going in Jan.:cool1:

We are staying off-site so don't have the DDP but I want to do a character meal with the princesses. My DD will FLIP!! Cinderella is her favorite so I would definitely like to have a meal where she is there.

I heard at CRT, Cindy only makes an appearance and doesn't mingle?

I have heard great things about 1900 PF but I am worried that going to the GF will eat up a lot of our time???

I heard the Akershus meal isn't so great?

Suggestions please!!

We are doing BBB early one morning at the castle. Does CRT have a breakfast meal with princesses?

Unfortunatley Disneys website does not give me a lot of info. So, I have come to the experts......

Thank you!
Amy-incredibly excited about our Disney trip!

We did the Princess Breakfast in Norway and it was VERY good and a lot of interaction with the princesses. I've heard the lunch and dinner meals are different being that they are Nowegian (sp?) food.

We've also done the meal at 1900 Park Fare and it was fantastic as well. You meet Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Termaines so if you want to see the rest of the princesses, you won't at this meal. As far as time goes, it's not really any more time than any other meal. Just hope on the monorail when you're done and you'll be in the park in no time.

The Castle meal I haven't done since before it was a character meal so I don't know how that is. Someone else on here does for sure though.

Good luck in choosing. I'm sure your kids will love wherever you go.

see above
first choice would be castle for the most princesses at atmosphere
close second would be Norway for breakfast

Out of all of them , the Princess storybook breakfast at Akershuhs in Epcot is by far the best.We enjoyed the food alot and the interaction was FANTASTIC.At Crt we felt rushed, and the interaction was so so, at 1900 park fare was great as well, but really isn't princesses other than Cinderella

Thank you! Do you see Cinderella at Akershus/Epcot?

Yep, the Norway princes meal is a good character meal. You get them all and they visit your table and interact with your kids. (you also get a picture package--taken with Belle when you first walk in the restaurant--that is "free" with your meal)

The 1900 Park Fare diner is also great--especially if Cindy is her favorite princess. We got to see Cindy, Prince Charming, stepsisters and step-mother. They were really "in-character" and so much fun.

We are also going in January (4th-14th) and will be doing the QSDP and also going to pick up a couple character meals--Norway will be one of them. I would also do 1900 Park Fare but the dinner is kind of expensive and my ds is an extremely picky eater and he doesn't eat much at the buffets that are not breakfast foods--so we will do the Norway breakfast.

We went to Norway for breakfast in May and Cinderella was there. So it's not a given but it is a possibility.

I would choose the castle meal because it is Cinderella's castle! Being inside the castle is an unforgettable experience. Plus it has all kinds of Cinderella details like Cinderella stained glass windows. If Cinderella is your daughter's favorite, I would go with the castle.

I haven't done any of these, but I am finally trying lunch in the castle this December! Having done some research on CRT, I can tell you that they do have breakfast and the price of your meal includes a package of photo prints of your photo with Cinderella. The photos are taken as you line up to go to your meal, and prints delivered by the time you finish eating.

You might want to note that the view of Fantasyland from the dining room will be blocked beginning Jan 11, 2011, according to the website.

I don't think 1900 Park at the GF would really be that hard to get to, and you could go there on your MK day after the BBB appt. Just take the resort monorail just outside the park entrance, and it's a fun ride. Sometimes it is nice to have a break from the park for a monorail resort meal. She will feel like a princess in a palace at the GF, for sure!

This choice, I think, depends on whether she wants to see as many of the princesses as possible or just Cinderella is a priority.

Dinner in the castle is special, but *only* because it's in the castle. The food is not outstanding and because of that (as far as I'm concerned, anyway) it's insanely overpriced (also, 2 TS credits?! No way).

Akershus in Epcot was our favorite meal of our weeklong trip (even/especially my husband's). The food was unique & delicious, each princess (I think we had the big 5 or 6 of them - Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty & Jasmine + the Belle interaction/picture that came with the meal) came to our table and talked to our son & daughter...they loved that! It was just one table service credit, we actually enjoyed our meals (they even gave us a free meal for our two-year old, which was awesome!) and we knocked out princess visits for the rest of the trip! :rotfl:

wow, thank you for all your advice!! You all have given me so much to think about! Just a few more questions......:)

Is Cinderella a guarantee at 1900 PF ?

Are there other princesses at CRT?

Do you get to see Cinderella during the meal at CRT or just outside for the photo opp?

How many princesses are there usually at Norway?

I would love to do the castle because DD will be dressed up from her BBB makeover but it is pricey. 1900 PF seems like a good value for the price cause you are getting dinner for about the same price as the breakfasts at the other two.... Our hotel offers free breakfasts so a dinner at PF may be the ticket. Or we could do a late breakfast at CRT and call it a lunch........

Oh, boy.....I may have to do two!

We also really enjoyed this. My younger daughter (2.5 at the time) was vibrating with excitement at the sheer number of princesses floating around.

I must add my vote for the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Restaurant Akeshus in Norway, EPCOT. It was a wonderful experience for our then 18-month DD.

She also loved the CRT lunch (which we did when she was 3) especially when they did the wishing star magic thing. She still plays with her wishing star and her wand. We saw Mary Poppins (not really a princess, but still), Jasmine, Belle (in her blue dress - if you want to see her in her yellow dress go to Akershus) and Aurora at the table.

We also did My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party and although it was pricey (perhaps that's an understatement) for us it was so worthwhile. Emily wore her Aurora dress. She was starstruck when she met Aurora. Every little girl gets an Aurora doll, a bracelet, a certificate and some scrapbooking items as well as the tea of course. Rose Petal (the hostess) is great fun and the kids get to parade around through the GF.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Okay, I'm thinking about doing two, is that crazy? Princess overload? Do you think we'll see the same princesses?

I can justify the cost because we do get photo packages right? Or do you have to pay for those?

I'm thinking.......
CRT breakfast after the BBB makeover in the castle and then Princess Storybook lunch in Norway (if I read correctly, lunch is the same price as breakfast?) Its so hard to get actual pricing off the Disney site and we are not on the DDP.

Now, I just have to explain to dh why we need do two.....but we have to eat right ;)

We might be in the minority...........but we really like CRT (obviously) but we always go to Akershus and we've enjoyed the food and character interaction there.............even seeing Ariel last time!

You do get a photo package in Norway. Don't know about CRT.
As far as prices - check allears.net. They have the prices listed there.

If Cinderella is her favorite, I would say there would be no place better to eat than Cinderella's castle (CRT)! Cinderella is DD(4)'s favorite too and she loves eating in the castle. You will meet Cinderella downstairs and get a picture with her. After that, you will go upstairs to eat and four other Princesses will stop by your table. Last time we had Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle in her Blue Dress, and Ariel in her ball gown. We go to lunch at CRT and we really like the food. They do have breakfast.

We have been to Akershus and we like it. There you see Belle and get a picture and then go eat and again 4 other Princesses will stop by. We have been to lunch and dinner. The Princesses aren't always the same. We have had Cinderella, but she is not guaranteed. The Cinderellas we have had at Akershus have been pretty rushed.

We have also been to 1900 Park Fare. That was our least favorite of the Princess meals even though it is exclusively Cinderella. DD did love meeting Prince Charming though and he was great with her. We might just have been on a bad night as I have heard others say it was great. We got there about 30 minutes before our ADR time and did not get seated until an hour AFTER our ADR time (1 1/2 hour wait with a hungry 3 year old- not fun). We have had some really great interactions with the Stepmother and Stepsisters at MK on our trips. At 1900 Park Fare, they were so spread out and away from each other the night we were there that they hardly interacted with each other which is most of the fun. Cinderella spent about 2 seconds at our table and rushed on. I think they were just so behind that night that everything was off. It took forever for the characters to all get around to our table. The food was edible - not bad, but not good either. Our ADR was at 6:00 and it was 9:00 p.m. when we finally got out of there. We were there in May 2009, and DD, a Cinderella fanatic, didn't even ask to go back there on our December 2009 trip. She does want to try it one more time on the next trip, so we will give it one more shot, but if it isn't better that's it for us.

We did the character breakfast in Norway at the end of August- food was good, and we say Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Ariel and Belle (as greeter). We enjoyed it, not an "every-trip, can't miss" thing, but still fun.

You might see the same princesses and you might not. DD wouldn't think 2 is Princess overload. Our last trip, she had 3 dining requests, CRT, Biergarten and Akershus. We did them all. You do get the photo package included with the meal at both CRT and Akershus. If you want CRT, you better try to book it soon. January is a slow month, but CRT books up fast. If you can't get it, keep trying- cancellations happen.
