Which Princess Character meal is best?

Is CRT the best option? Trying to work out what ADRs to try for.

We mostly do character breakfasts because of picky eaters, but we love Akershus Princess Breakfast. It's one of our favorites. The food is really good, especially the cheesy potato dish. They serve family style, plus there is a buffet with cold items like cheese and salmon, asst. fruits and pastries. It's a must do on our trips!

We have never tried CRT, but we have a breakfast planned for our trip in June. The reviews of the food on this site aren't great, but I have two girls, DD4 and DD8 and I think with trips planned every two years (as long as the tax refunds keep coming and the girls continue to want to go to WDW), these will be the best ages to give them the "castle experience".

Either way, you're eating with the Princesses at Disney...can't really go wrong no matter which one you choose!

I have heard great things about the food and princess interaction at Akershus. We booked it for our upcoming trip. We did 1900 Park Fair last year. DD, then 2.5, LOVED it! Cinderella was by far her favorite story and she was beyond excited to "eat supper" with the step mother and stepsisters. Each character came around and spent a lot of time with her and it was so magical! The food was very good. We had free DDP.

We've done CRT in the past before kids. I think it is way to expensive for what you get. You get much more to eat at the buffets and much more character interaction.

CRT is the best option *if* you must eat in the castle. If the castle isn't that big of a deal to you, then Akershus in Epcot has an AMAZING character interaction meal.

My granddaughters, ages 4 and 7, love CRT. We went there for lunch and while expensive, the food was good and the character experience priceless. The princesses spent time talking to each girl, and they were given fairy wants as a souvenir. They loved it. There's something so magical about having lunch in the castle at the Magic Kingdom! Have also been to Askerhaus, and it was nice, but #2 to CRT.

I agree--go to norway!!! the breakfast is great there, but when we do CRT we only do lunch and have had a great experience each time it is just pricey

We have done CRT and Akershus so far. While Akershus was good and a smidge cheaper...eating in the castle trumps everything. We did lunch at both...and I will say that while the food at CRT isn't signature quality, the experience is and the food is much better than many of the reviews I'd read.

We went to CRT and Akershus on our last trip. I think that they were both great. The food was great at both places. When we go back in October, we'll be doing them again. I don't know if I could pick which is better. If I was worried about using my credits, I would do Akershus no problem.

My daughter, 17 in a few weeks (I'm not sure when that happened!), and I love the Princesses! Ahershus and 1900 Park Faire are a tie for us. Akershus because so many of the Princesses are there and the interaction is outstanding. Food not so much. 1900 Park Faire food is OK (we've done breakfast and dinner), but where else can you see Cinderlla and Prince Charming dance and kiss. Sigh. Also, the character interaction--especially the wicked stepmother and stepsisters, is superb. My daughter has (unfortunately) had a series of stepmothers, and when she tells the wicked stepmother at Park Faire that, the actress always plays along with my daughter and it is so awesome. Even though my daughter is old enough now that she knows they are actresses, it is still magical.

I'm not a big fan of CRT. I much prefer Akershus. I've never had problem with the food there and the princesses weren't rushed. Howerver if you want guarantee to see Cinderella, I would go to 1900 PF for dinner. The buffet is not bad either and the caracters are awesome.

My daughter loved 1900 Park Fare and the interaction with Prince Charming. You don't see him at the other princess dining opportunities. The interaction is similar at both Akershus and CRT. I prefer the idea of eating in the castle, but if it is about meeting the princesses - save yourself some $ and eat at Akershus.

We did both Akershus and CRT with our five year-old daughter on our trip in January. There were pros and cons of each

Akershus
Pros - Seemed more relaxed overall. The included picture with Belle was very nice. The more low-key princess meal appealed to my husband. The servers were sweet.
Cons - The food was just OK. The arrangement of the restaurant made things a little crowded when the princesses stopped by. You could not really see the other tables to view the princesses. The parade with the princesses was slightly disconcerting (where did my child go?)

CRT
Pros - It seemed like a super-special occasion with the climb up the stairs of the castle. The way they announced each princess held DD's interest. It was fun to see the princesses as they visited other tables. The food was good and our server was really, really nice and fussed over my daughter (in a good way!)
Cons - The CM seemed a little stressed out as they seated people. (Once we were actually seated, the stress ended.) My husband was not a fan of the pomp and circumstance.

So, for our next visit, I'll take our daughter to CRT and my husband will take her to Akershus. Or we might just do both again -- she'll be out of this princess thing before we know it!

Did CRT dinner on Sunday, have never done Akershus so here's our review. DDs 9 & 7 were in awe of eating in the castle. The food was average, but we didn't feel the characters were rushed, albeit we were at the next to last table each princess visited. They talked to each daughter, signed two autographs for each, one in their books and we brought a photo mat to have signed for framing a picture of the dinner for each DD. We paid OOP for the dinner so it was pricey, but we thought it was worth it for DDs to eat in the castle, but don't think it is worth doing again. Food wise O'hana breakfast was much better, but no princesses.

Really?? That was our favorite part of the entire experience! I thought it was very clear that there was going to be a parade...it wasn't as though someone came and grabbed the kids from the table and my husband and I never lost sight of DD. DH followed the parade so he could video and I snapped pics. I just wanted to clarify in case anyone is freaked out after reading this. Sorry if it freaked you out, but the day we were there I did not see any parents upset, concerned etc.

We've done both Akershus and CRT...both were amazing. Eating in the castle was great, but in terms of overall experience I think Akershus has a slight edge....

I haven't been to Ankershus yet but, as a 35 year old woman, it was a little girl's dream come true to eat at the castle last year! I enjoyed the princess interaction and I didn't feel rushed at all. Since last summer, I've done the other two meals there and it was the same: no rush to hurry up and get out of there (now, my most recent experience at Crystal Palace was Rush City but that's a different story). In all honesty, you should try CRT once. If my dad had been able to give me a meal at CRT when he took me in 1987, he would have done it. It was just a wonderful experience and I can't wait to do it again in July.

I think I worded that badly! It was a very fun parade. I didn't mean to make it sound unsafe in any way. DD was totally thrilled with it.

We really enjoyed both meals very much. I think you can't go wrong with either one!
