Which points return on modified reservation?

If I modify a reservation that has current use year and borrowed points involved and the point total is now less..which points will return to my account- the current use year (the ones that could then be banked and more usable) or the borrowed points ( which are then stuck in the current UY only??

I am not positive, but believe they have returned the current UY points when we have done the same thing. Worst case scenario, call member services and they should be able to swap them.

We have definitely been able to bank the current years points after modifying to fewer points needed.

Current ones. They will always use more restricted points first. Just be sure to modify more than 31 days out to avoid holding points.
