Which parks to visit?

We are taking our DS that will amost be 5 to Disney World for the first time in June and are going to just concentrate on 2 parks. Magic Kingdom is an obvious choice but am unsure about the other and would love some suggestions!

I would say it's a choice between DHS and AK.

DS loved the Power Rangers last year, and getting their autographs was a highlight of the trip. He also liked the Muppets and the Playhouse Disney show. This year we are doing Star Wars weekends plus another "regular" day at DHS.

DS loves animals, and he had a great time on the Safari, walking the trails, and taking the train to Rafiki's planet watch. We didn't see any of the shows at AK, but I've heard those are wonderful.


With a child this age, I'd find Epcot an easy park to eliminate. Of course, I have girl/boy twins, so we had to have dinner with the princesses for DD

I agree with pp, EPCOT is a lot of fun and is becoming one of our favorites, but I think if you are doing 2 parks I would do DHS or AK. I think I would pick DHS over AK though. I think he would have fun riding Star Tours and seeing the Jedi training. No matter what you do you will have fun!

I think he'd enjoy DHS. With TSM, Playhouse Disney, Star Wars, Indy Stunt show, and the Power Rangers, a 5 year old boy would love it.

My kids didn't start enjoying AK until they got around 8 years old and even then DD9 still says it's alot of walking and it's boring sometimes.

Both my kids have always loved DHS.

I would go with AK. DHS is fun, but I dont find much for a 5 yr old to do. My DD is 6 and she doesnt care too much for DHS. She LOVES the animals and the shows at AK....Especially Finding Nemo Musical.....Have fun!!!
