I'm starting to plan a trip and wanted to get advice on which parks are best for 3 year old girls. We will probably get a two day park pass. The Magic Kingdom is a definite, but now trying to decide between Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Our family definitely prefers AK. BUT if you are only doing 2 days, have you considered just doing 2 days of MK? It's a big park, and a 3yo might have more fun there for a couple days than trying to mix in a different park that won't have as much for her to experience.

Are they more into animals and zoos? Animal Kingdom is a lot of walking, but it has a lot to look at... Not really many rides for a 3 year old. Limited rides at DHS now as well... but if they like movies, little mermaid, etc. Both are truly 'half day' parks - so with a park hopper you could easily make it a full day. However - with it being a 3-year-old... I totally understand keeping things simple.

EPCOT is not a bad option either. Almost all of the EPCOT rides are friendly to all ages (Sans SOARIN' and Test Track)

Are there opportunities to see Doc McStuffins and Sophia at the MK, or just at HS? I love MK so going there for two days sounds good to me, but I really want the girls to see Doc and Sophia too.

I agree with the previous poster, I would either do 2 MK days, or 1 AK day (if they are into animals). We did the Disney Jr dining at Hollywood and Vine in HS and my kids were pretty unimpressed. AK closes earlier, maybe get the park hopper, go to AK in the morning and schedule the dinner and Fantastmic at HS for the second half of that day? I do not recall if there is anywhere else to meet Doc and Sophia other than the play and Dine at H&V.

If they are really into the dis jr characters then I would recommend HS and doing the Hollywood and vine meal, keep in mind they only have the characters at breakfast and lunch, no characters at dinner. I think AK is highly skippable especially on a 2 day trip unless the kid is really, really into animals.

My mistake, I totally forgot they are not there for dinner. My suggestion really wouldn't work for this then.

I think it's only the H&V meal that has those characters, but I'm not sure (my kids have aged out of Disney Jr.). If you get park hoppers, you could do H&V breakfast (pre-park open!) on either day, and spend only as much time as you wish at HS, leaving the rest of your time for MK.

I would probably do 2 MK days. It really is a 2 day park. Especially with little kids who are there for their first visit (I'm assuming).

I would obviously do MK. But as for the other park it depends on what the girls like. HS is great because there is the Beauty and the Beast live stage show, LM show, Disney Jr. Show, TSM, GMR which is fun for everyone , and lots of character meets. You can even do a character meal at Hollywood & Vine with Disney Jr. Pals! Fantasmic is amazing later at night as well!

If they are more the adventurous animal liking type, then AK is the place for you!

Enjoy and have an amazing trip! :)

I would choose DHS, It has the Disney Junior Live on stage plus character, TSMM, toy story characters, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Characterpalooza. (and we are a family that loves AK as well)

However I second the recommendation to do 2 days at MK though-in your case that is what I would do, or at least plan for that and if at the end of the first day I changed my mind then would do DHS

My daughter loved DHS when she was 2, 3, and 4. She really doesn't remember much from Animal Kingdom, though. I don't really think it is as good as any of the zoos around here from strictly a zoo perspective. Now, Animal Kingdom is more than a zoo, so you need to take the other things into consideration. However, when you factor out the zoo parts because, again, I don't think the zoo parts are as good as the zoos around here, and just factor in the other parts of the park, for our family, it is not nearly as good as the other 3 parks.

Our daughter loved Play n Dine, Disney Junior Live on Stage, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, and Tower of Terror. She rode those last 2 when she was 3. She also enjoyed Honey I Shrunk the Kids playset, but that's gone so rather moot. She doesn't talk about anything at Animal Kingdom except for the safari every now and then.

Just to put my two cents in, I agree with some PP about doing MK and DHS, if OP you are open to the idea of buying park hoppers. I would suggest your first day all MK. Make an ADR for breakfast at Hollywood & Vine so your DD can meet Doc & Sophia. You could also catch the Disney Junior Live on Stage show after breakfast. Unless there is something else you want to do at DHS, I would then head back to MK for the remainder of your trip.

I would do MK and DHS given that your children are into Disney Jr. While you could easily spend 2 days at MK, you would not get to meet Sofia and Doc there. I know that meeting them is something my 4 year old is looking forward to on our next trip. I love AK too, but given your limit of two days it would be difficult to fit it in. To answer your first question about which parks are good for 3 year old girls, there really is something in all 4 of them that would appeal so you can't really go wrong.
